Hi October
Also another tea that helped me was Raspberry Leaf Tea, it was a bit harder to find, though it`s stocked in health stores. It tastes a bit funny, like pepper, but if it helps you`ll start associating the taste with comfort like I did! The only thing bad was I had to drink a lot of it to get the effects, but still when it finally helped a bit it was relief, it was one of the only things that made it possible for me to work for awhile and sit at a desk all day. You can get it in a leaf form and tea bag form and the leaf form is better as you can make it as strong as you like. It has qualities for helping period pain and with birth contractions (if I remember the second correctly) so probably worth a try.
Just wondering what you meant by icy heat and it being dangerous? I`m not one to judge, I have scars from overusing my hot water bottle for pain relief, but just curious! I`m also interested in that suppository, I never knew such a thing existed.
I don`t know much at all about the US system but if you`ve had to give up work doesn`t that show your doctor that you`re not coping because of the pain? And if he can`t give you anything shouldn`t he be able to find you another pain clinic with a lower waiting list (unless they`re all like that). I apologise if I`ve just repeated something already covered because I don`t understand the system. Also if tramadol helped I wonder if your doctor would either put you on a higher dose of it or try buprenorphine or suboxone, an opiate which doctors seem to `prefer`as it apparently has less abuse potential. But given the situation in the US doctors could also be scared or not allowed to prescribe this too, but just a thought. Though be careful about how you go about asking for it as you don`t want to mention specific drugs. I did have some luck with this drug at first.
Well take care xx Di
