I'm as sick as a dog again. I discovered last week that part of the skin troubles with my feet is an atypical chronic tinea infection and on Thursday I started on an oral anti-fungal med for it. I've been having a bit of a gastroparesis flare anyway and Thursday night the extreme nausea kicked in and hasn't left. I'm hitting it with everything in my arsenal - stemetil, zofran, lorazepam - and I still feel incredibly sick. I've spent the whole weekend vomiting - just looking at food has been enough to set me off, never mind trying to eat. Couldn't see my doctor today because there was nobody to give me a lift and I've got anxiety issues with strangers that mean it's near-impossible for me to take a taxi on my own. Hoping to see him tomorrow.

Despite the sickness, I've achieved a bit. I've finished one small sewn 'creature' and almost finished another bear.

Saturday was a pretty good day. I spent the evening watching Game of Thrones episodes and overall, it was a mild pain day.

Sunday, however, was a bear. I woke up in pain, and with a headache (probably from neck tension). My wife as well, who has a cracked lumbar vertebrae, was also suffering. Through the afternoon, I was writing, though took a break for a bit to watch more Game of Thrones (getting through the whole first season).

I took some oxycodone before dinner, as I was in charge of the prep (grilled lamb chops & roasted purple potatoes). After dinner, I was in so much pain, too more oxycodone.

I then spent a few hours writing and a lower trigger point, that hadn't been bothering me since my first round of injections in October came back like a bear -- as if by quelling the upper points last week, the lower ones reemerged. So, even though I took 15mg of oxycodone (a lot for me), it was a horrible evening of pain.

I calibrate my usual pain level to be 3-4, this was a 7-8. I used a ball to put pressure on the point, which can stop the spasm, but it didn't. By then it was about 10pm and it was too late for any more pain meds. So I took a valium and eventually the pain was quelled.

Today, it is much better, but I think I need to work on exactly how I am sitting while at the computer. Although I work in a reclined state, I arch my upper back forward a bit, especially when consulting the books and articles around me. So, I'm going to add a lumbar support and will see if it helps.

Today was cardiologist. I got 12 pills to last a month of tachycardia events, which are occuring every day. Then downstairs to the pain doc for ablation of nerves to 3 slipping ribs. At least my back is numb.

Tomorrow is gyne followup for the large uterine fibroid. Then the oncologist on Wed following up raised cancer markers with a bunch more blood tests.

Thurs and Friday are babysitting so DIL can go to work. Ham is on the menu for Sunday at her house, so I may take along a little something since I don't tolerate the sulfites in pork. I only eat a cupful at a time and mostly vegetables, so it'a not a big deal.

Then next week is ENT who doesn't believe I have had chronic sinus infections for nearly 3 years, eye doc who won't be a problem, and a 2nd opinion on torn rotator cuff which wasn't fixed in shoulder surgery.

No rest for CPers.

Hi everyone Saturday was a pretty good day. Pain was not too bad. Yesterday, it rained all day and pain was horrible. I took both of my oxycodone for the day, which I usually don't have to do unless it is bad weather.

Tonight my back is hurting more than usual and it's been sunny all day and no rain tonight. It really confuses me at times, even though I've had chronic pain for 11 years. :(

I sure hope that you all (Michael. Tina and Laura) feel better really soon.

 Well I sure hope everyone feels better through out the week

 I  went home last thursday early from work, A migrain

came home took some new med that my doctor gave me,

It sucked LOL so I had to call the pharmacy to see if I could take my old med

after taking the new, he said yes So took it, But by then it was way to far gone

I took another a hour later imtrex stll nothing, Now Iam standing up against a wall my head hurts worse when I lay down

 It got somewhat better fell asleep around 2 am , I was not allowed to call into work ,

 They were short handed So I took 800 ibuprofen  every six hours

I stayed in bed all weekend with a headache

I still have one but it has chilled

But it is Monday so maybe this week will be better,

I've noticed alot of members having issues with nausea. My husband has hepatitis c and is starting a new treatment with includes a weekly shot and two different pills. All of these can cause nausea which he did get. The doctors suggested ginger ale or ginger snaps to start. Ginger is supposed to be good for nausea. That wasn't enough so he just got a script for phenegran (sp?). Seems to be helping some. He did sleep through the night without nausea. Hope this helps someone.

My pharmacist and the assistants are my friends, lol.... they know me too well too.... I guess that's life w/ health and pain issues.

Hi All,

I'm a little late, but wanted to join. It was a very busy weekend at my house since we are still trying to put it back together. My husband was a real grouch on Sat and went hunting instead of helping all morning and then my family decided to come to MY house to plant some trees since my sister is moving to a climate that won't support them. It's complicated, but not somthing I felt like doing and I didn't even go out to deal with it. They brought a 15 year old nephew's girlfriend and her entire family....to my house... I'm sure I made everyone mad, but I asked my family in advance NOT to come inside and NOT to introduce me this time. I didn't even have time to brush my hair.

They came anyway and I stayed inside working and moaning in pain during breaks. After my hubby finished "playing", he came home and we hung the new curtains and made beds in two bedrooms and put some doors back up on Sunday. We also used the hammered pewter (sp?) paint to freshen up the door knobs, the window pulls, the window locks, the drawer pulls on the built-ins and things like that. It made a great change with a very little bit of money (YEAH!!!) because the money is GONE and we're going to end up so far in debt.

I started all of my new pain meds after I decided I had to do something NOW to have relief and have been adjusting quite well. They seem to be helping keep the pain more level.  I'm glad I was able to get it!  I still have to take ALL of my other meds, but the pain levels go down to 3 or so on occasion and that is soooo much better. Even the RFA is not causing too much pain. I'm still off of the ambien and sleep/rest is much better (still using melotonin 6mg per night) and highly recommend the change for anyone who can.

So we did accomplish things and we do have real beds to sleep in now. We're covered with sheetrock dust and dirt...but I can see progress and that helps.  Dispite the really bad pain moments, I'm happier just knowing we're moving along.
