Hi Jag I have tried twice now to write a post and both times I a have lost it before finishing it! So I am trying one more time! I can really empathize with you Jag with those muscle spasms, the pain is unreal waking up in the middle of the night with the muscles in your legs going nuts and trying to tie themselves into knots! I sure hope that the nerve blodk works for you!
I have had the serries of three epidural steroid injections at L-3 and to be honest I do not think they are worth the trouble of getting them for the small amount of relief I have gotten from them! You know the pain is kind of an on an off thing some days it really isn't to bad and other days, like the last two or three it has really been unbearable, and is really difficult to get by with. Heck I can't even bend over or stupe down because of the discomfort, and any twisting while walking is really bad! I have been using my walker when in the house, just to get around! I am really kind of scared about having surgery done on my back or even having the hip replacement that they say I need. I have seen just too many patients that have had problems with both of these type of surgeries and it really makes me leery about having anything done! But when it gets really bad like the last few days I think anything would be better then having this constant pain! Anyway I will see what the surgeon says down in Lexington Kentucky, as if I do have to have the surgery I will have it down there, so I can be near my family. I know what my surgeon has told me here, but that doesn't necessarily mean the neurosurgeon down there will want to do the same thing. Anyway we shall see!
Jag I seen you post about your husband having Hep C, that can be really nasty, has he received the chemo treatment for that? I have a friend whose wife has Hep C and has had that treatment but it did not work and she is on a list for a liver transplant. I sure hope things work out well for both of you! Please do take care of each other. I wish you both well Jag!
