I am not sure if I am posting on the correct forum.

As I have said in my previous posts, I have recently had surgery and have had a bit of a struggle since.  This past few days I have noticed that I am losing hair.  When I shower it is all over the shower tray, when I comb it I am pulling lots of hair from the comb and when I blow dry it I can see hair all around me.  I remember suffering this after a previous surgery, it is not patchy is just all over hair thinning.  I already have fine hair and this just makes it feel so thin.  I guess its a confidence thing too.  Has any one else suffered this or has anyone  any ideas.  Oh I have been taking a hair and nail supplement for some time, it helped after the last time but i am not sure what to do now.

      this is common after a surgery, and is said to be caused from the Anesthesia given. I had the same thing happen after my double lumbar fusion surgery. My hair was dry and unruly...and I lost a ton of hair. I learned this from my hairdresser, who said she see's this all the time from clients who have had surgery.

   It should get back to normal in a few months...in most cases.

I had the same thing to!!!I never would have thought it was the general anes.. When I washed my hair and combed it hair was coming out all over the place.

Pennsylvania is getting snow today. We dont see it here where we live but west of us they are getting hammered.

Hopefully I will stop losing hair soon. It has been 3 weeks since my surgery.

i have found this propecia medication which has really helped me alot i found them on medicinesmexico.com they are very cheap there. you all should try it.

If it's not better soon, maybe supplement with b-12 or get your b-12's level checked
low b-12 can cause hair loss,, but hopefully you'll be doing better soon...

I dont think I've Welcomed you so I thought I would jump in here and say Hello.

The Subject line of your post is what caught my attention. Hair Loss?.... Hmmmm , I had to peek. To a bald headed guy like me that was like a Flashing Neon sign screaming at me to read the post. :)

Oh BTW, Stop that snow stuff. I gotta come through Pennsylvania before too long.

Thank you all for your positive words and advice. It's still coming out but maybe not quite as badly as before.

          ...just wanted you to know it took a few months before mine straightened out. You may fair better...but for me it took quite a while. The good news is that it will come back to normal..and you should be happy with it again....so stock up on the hairspray if you see it on sale! smilewinkgrin

If you're a woman, you can't even touch propecia. It says so right on the label.

Propecia is a very dangerous drug. Please, for your sake, check out propeciahelp.com and read some of the stories on there before you start taking this drug.

Propecia has ruined thousands of people's lives. Don't shrug off the risks, because they are very real.

Every time I have a major surgery I get hair loss. It just stops growing for a while.

Make sure you get on a good, healthy diet, take vitamins, especially vit D.

My hair starts growing again, after a month or two, slowly at first, depending on how sick I am.
