NeedleArts, I do cross-stitching mostly, needlepoint, hardanger (pulledwork),and have done
latch hook rugs, and other embroideries...I use mostly silk threads as dmc cotton are not as soft
on my hands and I can modify designs and colors...with the rheumatoid arthritis I'm just a little slower at it now
I hope to do the ring pillow for when and if my daughter gets married...

Well, Michael, I make checkered flags , about 60 per 6 month racing season. It is for our dirt track in the northern part of Pennsylvania for first time winners and big event winners.

It is very hard for me to do when my leg is killing me, but I manage a few lines of stitching and then rest.

I dont make clothes or curtains, just checkered flags and I mount them on a pole.

CRPS has stolen most of mine. I was a gymnast once upon a time. Also played whistle, recorder, guitar and oboe, and drew/painted.

Still have my bears.

I used to play at the Guitar and occasionally still pick it up when Carpal Tunnel allows. Also play Harmonica. Played Tennis and won several trophies in my late teens and early 20's. Used to Woodworking for craft shows. Still love to build some things when I feel like it.

I don't really think that I have a talent for writing as most would see it -- i.e. novel use of language, elegance, colorful turns of phrase, etc.. But most of my time is spent writing and I'm on my second book (both with the same a large publisher). My writing talent has more to do with the clear and precise presentation of complicated concepts and arguments.

As for other talents, I can be very witty -- and my taste for humor does often get me in trouble. I also used to be very good at math, a skill I put to work for some years counting cards (and even contemplated doing it professionally). More recently, after travel became too difficult, I developed a unique options trading system that is very effective when market volatility is high (VIX >30). It was great during 2008-2009, but by 2010, I couldn't make enough money to justify the research time.

      I forgot to list my Talents here!   ...Really have not given it much thought...but I suppose if I had to list one or a few,....I used to sing at Weddings, Church...and even did Barbershop for a while. I'm a deep bass...but at one time in highschool I could sing higher than any girl...and lower than any boy!   That has since left me..but I still have a very deep bass voice for singing.

    Also!...not so sure it is a talent, but I do rather well at smoking meats in the smoker,...and add to that, I recieved top in class at a cooking class in highschool.

 I was also a wickedly fast sprinter in school..and had a letter jacket full of medals to prove it. I was so in love with sprinting,...and so competitive,.. that I used to sneak out of my parents house at night....adorned in nothing more than my underware and a set of heavy rubber mud boots for added weight!   ....and sprinted up and down a 1/4mi stretch of country road where we lived. At times I had to jump in a fleld and hug the ground...when a car came by.  

    Photography is probably one of my favorite Talents..again if you can call it that....and I ran a very successful business.... photographing individual and team photos....around 7000 children a year...and add to that Weddings and HS Seniors. We were busy!  

 Those days are long gone..but I have a good memory of them all...and enjoy reflecting on them when I lay down for a nap or a nights sleep.
