Looking For A Good Pain Clinic In The Philadelphia Area

Hello all. I've been seeing the same pain doctor for a couple years, but due to my health insurance changing at the end of last year, I'm now looking for a new pain clinic. I've looked into a few, but they only offer injections, procedures, etc and won't prescribe medication (I've had numerous injections and procedures done and none of them helped me at all). I went to a pain doctor today, but he turned me away because he doesn't prescribe oxycontin, which is the only medication that has helped me. So is anyone aware of a pain clinic in the Philadelphia area that prescribes pain medicine? Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion Lorie, I'll check it out. The pain doctor that doesn't prescribe medication, gave me a list of pain centers in Philadelphia and I called all of them. Most of them were dead ends (Didn't accept my insurance, or only does injections, etc) but I found a couple possibilities. I hate having to depend on narcotic medications for pain relief. It makes you look desperate, like a junkie, when in reality you're not addicted or anything. However, you need the meds to take away SOME of the pain. Then people say, But you're still in so much pain even with the heavy pain meds, so why don't you stop taking them? I know they're helping, because when my doctor tried to reduce my doseage a few months ago, the pain shot through the roof. Sorry for the rant and thanks again.

I am having similar problem in Philly. We've been made a political football to justify the DEA that can't catch real drug dealers, so, to keep their federal bureaucracy jobs and pensions they're fabricating cases to make it look like they have too much work to and thereby justify their jobs and bloated pensions, healthcare, etc.. the whole thing is a disgrace. The DEA should be disbanded.
