Egibbo,
Let me tell you a story about my wife and her best friend..... one day the friend had some lower right abdominal pain and it got worse over the day. Eventually, it was excruciating and they went to the hospital. The ER doctor said it was period pain. She then was squeezed into her OBGYN and was lying in the waiting room, in agony until the MD saw her. Other patients saw that she was in so much pain, they let her go ahead of them and the MD after a few minutes, said that it was an apendicitis.
She was told to go back to the ER immediately and the MD would call ahead. My wife wheeled her friend in an office chair across the street as that was the fastest option.
The ER doctor still refused, claiming that it was menstrual pain -- that, after an OBGYN said it wasn't. Also this ER doctor was male, and surly didn't know what it felt like first hand whereas my wife's friend, like any other woman, after decades knows exactly what that pain is like and what she was experiencing, she continued to protest, wasn't that.
Before being released yet again, they phoned the OBGYN who had hospital privileges there (right across the road from her office) and ordered a white cell count. They waited in the ER, her friend really unable to move she was in so much pain. Eventually, the blood work came back and her count was terrifyingly high. Her appendix had burst.
They finally rushed her to surgery and she thankfully recovered.
The arrogance of the male doctor, declaring that he better than her can know whether a pain is menstrual nearly killed her.
Maybe the moral of the story is -- find a female doctor at the ER... ask for a white cell count ... or remind them that you've been having menstrual pain for years and you KNOW the difference.
Anyhow, good luck!
