It's come out of nowhere. I was on the phone, and when I got off, I went to take my scrub top off, try to get out of work clothes and realized that every spot of my skin I touch, arms, sides, back, legs all feel bruised to the touch. They aren't, they just feel that way.

What IS that?

Have you been to the Fibromyalgia forum on this site? In the first post (Fibro 101) is a list of symptoms. Read it and see what you think. Hope you are fine and it is nothing.

Yup.  I call that the "hit by a bus" feeling.  Everything is sore, achy and sensitive to touch.  I once described it to my doctor:

Her: Does your knee hurt?

Me: No, my whole body aches though

Well, does your back hurt

Not really everything just aches

Does your arm hurt....

I have often seen that as a symptom come to think of it. I am waiting on a rheumy referral since there are few in my area, but I have other symptoms I guess. It's happened to me before, but I haven't made the connection entirely

I think once you see your rhuemy doc you will know if this is fibro. I know that before I went to my rhuemy doc I would have made the same disciption you had....achey and sore all over. Almost like when you get the flu and your body aches. Hopefully you have answers soon. Keep us posted...take care

As Amy said.... the rheumatologist is a good starting point.... I would describe my fibro the same - hit by a bus feeling, sore/bruised all over, etc.

Hi, didn't you post something about being on Butrans? I think that was one of tje side effects that I mentioned that I had, the the feeling was limited to my chest, bisceps, stomach, and forearms, right around the "meat" of the muscles. When I was off the Butrans, it went away.

I would start having that around the 4th to 5th day of each patch, then it would go away a day after switching. I'm sorry, I cant tell you if it effected any other muscle groups, as the rest are already being effected by the injury in my back. I hope this is only a side effect and not something more severe. Hope.it goes away.

Definitely sounds like my Fibro. Very very tender to the touch from my hips to my neck. However I am no doctor and a rheumy would know better.

      You are best to seek professional help with your brusing problem...or at least the the feeling of it anyways. I would not advise anyone to take a scripted med to experiment with.

Hi, I'm still hoping that its side effect of the Butrans, I agree with SE about experimenting without a doctor. Also, if Enduronman is talking about the musle relaxer, I know Norflex, which I dont think ia the cyclobemzaprine, didn't help at all. Hope you find am answer and it goes away.

dear friend, I hope you are having reaction to a med. and not fibromyalgia. Med. symptoms can be fixed, just get off the med. Fibromyalgia is terrible. So many docs dont even believe in it. Seems many pain management doctors especially. At least that is what I have had personal experience of. Sometimes the fibro wont be actin up and u will feel pretty pain free. Then, KABOOM, it hits you like a train and you hurt all over. That is what people call a flair. I have had many. I have had it nearly 30 years. Started in my feet, on the bottom of my feet, felt like I was walking are rocks. Over a year or so I had more and more pain, different parts of body. Now, fibro laughs at me, like a mean kid pointing out what ailments I have now. The latest is carpul tunnel syndrome, so the doctor says. I pray your pains get better quickly and if its fibro that its a short visit. My hot tub has made life so much better when I do have a flair....you take it easy and I will be thinking of you........Cathy
