Burning pain in feet, ankles, and leg

Hi Painfulfeet81 Welcome to Healing Well Chronic Pain Forum, really sorry that your having this problem with your feet, we are not doctors here so we cannot cure you, but we can give what advice we man have, and we can lend you our ears and listen to you, and definitely give you understanding and support!  What test have you had done? also is there any swelling or redness in your feet? Is the pain in your toes? or in the joints of your feet? your ankles?  Have they checked you for Gout? What you describe, sounds allot like what my past father inlaw used  to have many years ago. He would get gout in his feet, and even sometimes in his thumbs and fingers. It can be really really painful! But they do have meds they can give you to treat it and keep it under control. Also does it help with the pain if you have your legs up like sitting in a recliner with your legs propped up? Have they checked the circulation in your legs and feet?  

 

I do hope you can get this resolved soon, please keep us informed of your progress or lack of it, we have allot of really compassionate caring folks here, that live with chronic pain everyday, so they know what it is like, and we can really empathize with you. It sounds like you have already seen so many Drs. so I'm sure this is very frustrating:(

From the way you write things, it sure does sound like a Morton's Neuroma. This is exactly where they are usually located, right underneath, in the pad part. It is an excruciating pain that after a bit, you can't walk on it at all!

I've had surgery for mine....Did a Podiatrist rule this diagnosis out and already try giving cortisone shots into the affected area to see if that would help? That is the type of Dr. who treats MN.

Please look this up online and see if it fits your symptoms...It sure does sound like it but obviously I am not a Dr....Just someone who has had this issue. I know you state you have pain in your ankles and lower leg but that could be related nerve pain if you have been trying to deal with this for a long time and limping and walking improperly as well as the nerve pain can travel.

If it's found to be this, they will try a series of cortisone shots, directly into the "tumor" (benign)...and if it doesn't go away within 2-3 rounds max...then surgery is needed.

The surgery was a piece of cake. I went in the am...they only use twilight anetsthesia so you don't feel or remember a thing but you are awake the whole time talking to the Dr.:) They remove the neuroma/tumor and a bit of nerve endings so you are left with a tiny scar and a bit of numbness.

It was done within 45 minutes...and then back home by mid day. I was only off work for a few days and using crutches for about 5 and then things have been perfect with absolutely no pain and full mobility for over 8 years...There is a possibility that they grow back (mine has this last year) but it is manageable right now and only have a flare here and there but now I know that they can easily remove it if needed.

Anyway...just wanted to share my story....I certainly pray you can get some answers soon!
