Iamhealed Welcome to Healing Well Chronic Pain Forum, Sounds to me like you have found the right place, there is a host of information here at this site, and with all the different forums, I think you can get some really good advice, and who knows maybe one of these forums will actually be on what you get as final diagnosis. I definitely can understand your skeptic view on your doctors possible diagnosis, which might be right or wrong. I do think it is good that your going to see a new doctor about
it.
I think Tina gave you some excellent advice! Keep a journal of you pain and symptoms, write down when it occurs and what you were doing at the time, what it feels like, everything that you can think of about it. What you did or do to relieve it, what seems to help and what seems to make it worse. Take your journal with you to your doctors appointment, that way you will be able to accurately describe and tell him what is going on. Above all be honest with him or her, and as Tina said tell the doctor how it affects you and your job and your life style and the quality of your life. Ask the doctor what he or she can do to help you. I will tell you that allot of doctors do not like to be told by their patients what they need to do, or prescribe, some will even get defensive about it and usually then the appointment is a complete waste of time. But with that said, you can, if you word it correctly, usually in to a question type of statement, and then let the doctor do the job you came there to see him for, I think you will more likely get better results and not feel that you wasted your time and the doctor does not understand you or does not care. This is especially important when it comes to pain management, rightly or wrongly, often doctors become leery about treating patients with pain! So being up front and honest is foremost but not demanding, and be willing to try what ever is prescribed at least for a while, unless you have alread have had the treatment and you know it does not work.
I do wish you well and hope that your appointment goes really well for you, and I do hope you continue to come to our forum and become and active member of our family here.
