Hi there...I'm sorry to hear of your pain issues...
Can you try to get a prescript
ion for something like Neurontin which is a nerve pain medication to see if this helps you at all? It is very, very inexpensive in it's generic form called Gabapentin. I haven't had health insurance for more than 6 years so I completely empathize.
I get my medications at Sam's club which you do not have to be a member to use their Pharmacy.
I would think if you could save up or borrow from friends or family enough to see an Orthopedic once for them to at least look you over and perhaps prescribe this medication. For a cash appt. many Drs. will give you a discounted price from $75 to $100..I see my PM Dr. every 3 months for the $75 charge and have been seeing him since my last fusion surgery.
They may be able to even prescribe a muscle relaxer to go along with the Neurontin to take as needed. My Flexeril...again in generic, only costs $8 for 60 pills which last me about
two months.
Unfortunately no one here is a Dr. to be able to tell you exactly what is going on but it does sound like a sciatic nerve issue with how it radiates down and the type of pain you describe.
There are some good stretches that you can look up online at a reputable site like Spine Universe or Web MD for sciatic pain that really help me.
Have you applied for disability, or Medicaid, or with your local county free clinics? I just got my card for a free clinic in my county to be able to get some appts. for other testing and check ups.
