Hi kwitbugin, your "rant" is well understood... I really cant offer any advice for the present, I'll leave that to the more experienced members. As far as the PMs long term goals, the way it was explained to me, they do injections right off, before PT, in an effort to decrease your daily pain, and then send you to physical therapy, and other stuff; their thought being, if they cant decrease your pain, what good would it do to send you to physical therapy, you wouldn't be able to complete any of the sessions.
I agree with suzie, if the PM didn't give you any medications to help with the pain at home, you need to find another... they are very well aware that the injections cause possibly a severe increase in pain for several days, even up to a week and a half, and to not treat that pain is very irresponsible, I found it to be near paralysing. They do make a lot of money from the injections, and these days, practically nothing from a patient who they only write prescript
ions for, many insurance companies are only paying $30 per visit, which hardly covers the doctor's operating costs.
Regarding getting ahold of the doctor, many doctors have an option on their phone system for other doctors to get in touch with them... if you push this option, it will usually ask for you to leave a call-back number, and name, and it will forward this message to the doctor, or to whomever is on-call. I found this to be the most effective way to get in touch with many physicians in an emergency, they usually understand that if a patient is resorting to that measure, there really is a problem. As long as they call you back, then you can ask them what to do right now. Thats the only thing I can think of that would get you in touch with them.
Take care, and keep us posted, and let us know how this turns out. Dont be affraid to get help if you need it.
