Rectal Pain/ Endometrosis

Hello,
I am new to the chronic pain forum, I came from the Ostomies portion. I was officially diagnosed with endo in Sept 2012, during the lap the surgeon found cells where she had never seen them before. She continue to burn them unaware my colon was directly underneath. The colon over heated during the procedure without her knowledge. I was sent home and ended up back in the OR 3 days later nearly dead from septic shock. My colon tore due to the over heating. I had a portuon of the colon removed and received an ileostomy, the ileostomy was reversed in November.
Starting in January, I began having severe rectal pain before, during and after a BM. They are not constant, they come and go in waves. But the pain does get unbearable, still not much compared to the severe pain I have dealt with having endometrosis.

My question, is there anyone out there who has endo with severe rectal pain?

Welcome to the CP forum.... I'm sorry for the issues you are dealing w/ but glad you found your way over to our forum :) You've been through so much!!

Although I don't have endo, I have chronic pelvic pain from scar tissues, adhesions, etc. I know how much that hurts - and I know that endometriosis hurts even more.... We have a couple of members on here that do have this - so hopefully they will respond more. I have a couple of family members that suffer from this as well... and I know how much pain they deal with.

Are you currently on anything for the pain? My niece uses a combo of motrin and hydrocodone. I would definitely be discussing pain control w/ my doctor.

Like I said - I'm sure others will be along w/ hopefully more input. But just wanted to welcome you here... and i hope you can get something figured out to deal w/ your pain issues. Take care, Tina

I broke down this morning and called my doctor! I'm a graduate student and can't function on pain killers especially when they don't work!

I know you don't want to be on pain meds, shoot,none of us do, but sometimes you have to draw the line in the sand and say enough is enough. I hope your dr can give you something that will help & let you function at the same time.
