Hello all,
I saw a neurologist this morning and upon describing my pain and frequency of attacks etc, he said I fit many of the criteria for SUNCT (Short-lasting Unilateral Neuralgiform headache with Conjunctival injection and Tearing).
I have a fairly constant up and down burning, pressure-like pain in the maxilliary sinus area, just under the eyes. Alongside this there are increasingly frequent electric-shock shooting pains that last a few seconds each and often come in series of like 5-10 in a row for a few minutes.
Gabapentin works well, so he has said to switch that to Pregabalin which is a bit more manageable. And also to add in another drug I forget the name of (I think it is lamotrigine?) then if that is not effective replace it with carbamazepine.
Also, I have constant nasal stuffiness/congestion and dry or watery eyes which I have read can be a symptom of this sort of thing.
So, anyone else been diagnosed with this or something similar?
