shakehead  I am new at this. This is my first post on anything like this. I am NOT technologically gifted :)  I have been a chronic pain patient for 3 years. The condition has slowly deteriorated over the past 15 years. I love my pain management doctor, but they are soooooooo strict.  The past few months I have fallen and used all of my medication.  I am 54 with no history of drug abuse. I have had a har time finding a pain doctor that doesn't treat patients like criminals.  Well... after all that I am on my second day with no pain medication at all.  I have been on 40 mg opana 2x daily with 10 mg percocet for breakthrough for over a year. I am taking lots of Imodium because I was warned about Dairrhea. I'm not sure what to expect as I have today and two more days.

See that you have replied to my post I'm minnie.

I wish my husband & I could go out for breakfast but I can't sit in his work van & thats the only vehicle we have right now. I haven't been out anywhere since January but only to go to dr.s visits.
I know from past experince that when I go see a neurosurgeon I will have to go for a mri. I went for 3 mri's the last time this happened to me because the neuro wanted to see if I was improving & I was but that was in 1998 - 2000. I should have probably insisted on surgery but first surgeon kept putting it off & second surgeon told me there was nothing that he saw in my last mri or milogram that looked like I needed surgery.

I just hate thinking about going through another 2 yrs or more to some how degreese this pain that I wake up every morning with & throughout the day but some days are better then I think maybe I'm getting better & then it starts up again.

The only thing I haven't tried is accupuncture or nerve pain meds

Please call yourdcotor. This is an out of the ordinary situation, if you fell.

Call your doctor today.

Thye are strict, but they have to be. They handle the okays to some very powerful drugs, that a lot of people would like to get for recreational use.

Call your doctor, sweetie. I hope you feel better soon, and that you didn't hurt anything seriously when you fell.

Hello Care and welcome to HW.

Your kind of in a bad situation here. What happens if you go in there in a few days and get tested? You will likely lose your meds and your Dr. He will have virtually no choice.as you left him none by disregarding his orders.

That's the motivator that prevents most of us from taking more then ordered.

You should always talk to them prior to changing things. It's so hard to find a good Dr and when we do we try to to hang on to them.

I certainly understand your pain and in reality you should have called and told them you were having problems and ask to be seen sooner.

Are you out of both your LA and B/T meds?

I went in and called but they will not see anyone outside of their scheduled appt. I am at school and seem ok except the diarrhea thing and the god awful pain. I'm just worried about what the next two days will bring as I googled opana and read horrible abuse stories and dont know if I am in for the same awful experiences. I have pitures of the bruises and scars from the fall and I think he will get that, but I am meds free for two more days.

They said the same thing. Hindsight can also suck:) I see an ortho about the falls tomorrow but I'm not sure what I'm allowed to let him do. Will shots in my knee count? I know I cant take any meds from him, but I don't know what all that includes.

Hi Care & welcome to the forum. I am sorry that you are having such a rough time of things. Living with CP is just a full time job as far as I am concerned.

That is awful the dr does not allow for emergency type of appts. I don't know if you have been following along with all of the new guidelines these drs are having to follow or not when it comes to treating CP patients. Unfortunately with so many of the drs they are scared to death someone is going to come in & shut their office down & take the drs license away. This is why the drs are acting towards their patients the way they are. It is not you, its what the drs are scared of. If these drs are doing what they are required by law to do, they will have no problems but you cannot convince them of this,they are just scared.

I am someone that falls from time to time. I fell Sat morning hit my chest. I thought I would die, lol. I was in the hospital the end of March for a light heart attack, threw a blood clot into the lungs so they put one of those filters in me. I was afraid I had messed it up. It feels like broken ribs & very painful My xrays checked out ok. So, I do understand how a fall will make you feel.

Your ortho should be able to inject your knee, its taking scripts for pain meds from another dr that will get you in trouble.
