You know what's interesting about
your post is I just asked my Dr. for a dexa scan because my mom has severe
osteoporosis. Well lo and behold my left hip came back as mild ostopenia. That is the same side I had my total
knee. When I was at my ortho's office the other day I brought up that he had mentioned after my surgery that
I had soft bones and what does that mean. He stated that I could be on my way to osteoporosis.
My primary care Dr. has me taking 1,500 mg of calcium and 2000 i.u. of Vitamin. Both were ok with blood work
but D was at low end. I have started walking again and need to lift light weights. No need for drugs which by
the way have alot of side effects. My ortho said my Dr. should of had be tested year's ago.
Good Luck
