Supreme court ruling -80% all drugs exempt from legal liability

That's bogus... corporate greed at its best is what I got out if this. Take name brand drugs if you can afford it just to have the ability to sue if you have a reaction or take generic and if you end up with a life changing debilitating reaction you get told to bad so sad. How horrible.

Sadly there is nothing there that surprised me. Except the fact a lower court awarded her 21 million in the 1st place.

It's the why behind malpractice suits are a difficult win. Your fighting multibillion dollar industry's involving drug makers and their subsidies,FDA rulings,and actually the lawmakers and pharmacys and Drs since they control most of the stock in these subsidies. Pharmaceutical stocks are huge money makers.

Notice that in the end of the line is Merck pharmaceutical that actually owns at least controlling interest in the generic manufacturer but since they are manufacturing under the subsidiary of the drug in generic form they can't be held accountable even though they manufacture under brand for millions of drugs.

In my thinking it's simply a way for pharmaceutical companies to cover the expensive brand drugs as well as the less expensive generic market but not have to adhere to all expansive guidelines.

The same people who made the decision to overturn her judgment probably have stock portfolios that include one subsidiary or another of the controlling manufacturer. 21 million would be a big hit to any company.

That's why no surprise. Sad but these types of cases are overturned on a daily bases and many are the reason Lawyers don't go for malpractice cases even with big money payouts. Though won at lower level courts they will never see a dime since it's fair game they get overturned in higher courts where the lines of the laws are badly blurred.

As consumers we really have no protection.
