OT: Something new

OK I have been on this forum since 2008 and somehow just ended up on a page I've never seen before. Dont know what I did to get there or if its a feature every one can use or one that comes with my other mod ones.

The page showed me who was here and where they were at the moment?

Anyone know or everyone know but me?

It's always been there. If you hit "details" at the bottom, you can see what threads are being viewed....

I've always been able to see it & I'm no moderator.

I love the feature where you can click on the person's username & see the last several posts they made. It often gives a really good picture of who you are dealing with (supportive, informative, or other). I use that one quite often..you should try it and see why people mention patterns from time to time. It's much easier to see this way.

And I thought every one was just ignoring me!! Lol. Yea that's a problem David especially on my phone as it either auto logs me in every time I click the HW icon and it opens the CP page or I'm staying logged in because it's never asked me for username or password since I put it on here.

Interesting, anyone know which?

I remember that but what I can't figure out is if the phones keeping me logged in then when I go to the laptop it asks me to log in says I've been successful in logging in and hows that possible if I'm already logged in via the phone? Or is this all just to above my head?

It was my last year of working and the hospital was just starting to convert all nurses notes,pharmacy request, labs etc.to the portable computers,the ones you rolled from room to room as long as you had a plug?

Well I had never been on a computer and they offered classes, I took 2 and that's the extent of my computer training other than playing with it. Until last year I still had one of the regular flip phones and will never be as smart as this smart phone my kids think I need.

Im still locked into the dinosaur age according to them since I gave up on my Kindle!

Don't give up. I thought computer classes for a while (basic ones) and each person learns at their own level. In order to get the most out of your experience, don't be afraid to try many different things. I would start by opening the link on your phone and seeing if I could find the settings for the auto log-in. If you turn that off, it should fix your problem. If you can't find it, I'm sure your kids will be able to find the setting for you.

HW chat doesn't work well (really at all) with my iPad. I really wish the bugs would get worked out, but all things in good time. Apple and Windows are in completion and often don't want to help each other out. It makes it better for their revenues.

??? I really can't say I understand your post above Vickie??...I truly was trying to help you go back and see if there was anything that helped with your specific computer problem...that is why I did the link, to help you:)

Then when you asked me again, I was just suggesting that many of us are not experts with the computer and gave a good suggestion of a place that helped me...the Geek Squad..

This has nothing to do with the entire OT thread ......It was JUST for the question you had about your computer/phone being logged in or out.

I enjoy many of the OT threads that are "for fun" and where we all get to participate and play "games"....those are definitely a good break from everything.

I was also just spending a bunch of time on another thread you just put up with your question about the Lyrica and other nerve pain meds and now that has disappeared??? Did you delete that thread????So, it's whacky around here !!

If you think for any reason I did something negative on this post then please email me as I was only offering to help you with your one question about your computer/phone.....Don't see why you got all upset over this?

Tina sorry I went looking again to see if I could find it and drugDigest had some kind of messy,confusing mention mixed in the lyrica page. Good enough that I get the picture so I deleted my post after I found it since wasting words is a worry.

Thanks also, it worried me more that the phone was keeping me logged in all time. The HW icon more specifically the CP and mod forum has their own icons so I can quickly access both from my phone if I get an alert.

Right now my son is here as well as his friends visiting and others are using my phone from time to time at the moment. If you click either icon you go directly to either forum. I don't like that to be that way. It's a privacy thing.

I've tried to fix it,did every thing suggested and still even if I manually log out it automatically logs me in when I come back.

I made a call as suggested and whatever they had me change I can't get back in at all now from my phone. Susie alerted me awhile ago that I copied a paragraph to the wrong thread did I want to edit it so it made sense and I had no icons because I wasn't logged in. When I try it tells me it's wrong username /password.

Im currently logged in with the same name and password on my sons phone.

I guess I will try to take it to VM to see what they can do
