Hi all

It has been a while since I last posted in this forum. Had to do a search for the username/password. Anyway I am back now.

I am suffering from chronic back pain for quite some time now. As most of you would likely know, chronic pain is not something that comes on its own; it also brings some other symptoms as well. Here are the symptoms(more appropriately disorders) that I believe I am going through.

1.Fatigue
2.Brain Fog

Anyone experiencing the same? Any explanation would be great.

Hello PF and welcome back.

You didnt say what your taking for your pain as those symptoms can occur with most all the meds prescribed for CP.

Im a multiple issue CPer at this point with numerous bi-lateral knee surgeries, some failed as well as lumbar issues.

Over a decade on this journey.

Thankfully I don't take meds regularly, only when it is needed. So I can rule that out from the causes. And I am sure the meds I take are not causing the symptoms.

Well then I imagine its fatigue caused from our bodies simply trying to fight off pain. The process can be draining and I know when I'm in a flare and eventually pull out I've a tendency to sleep alot.

The sames probably true with the brain fog as well, pain can certainly consume your ever waking thought, cloud your judgment, effect your thought process and cause depression.

It's harder on our physical well being and our psychological health to be in continued and consistent pain then using the meds that treat it.

Im not sure why your not on any medication but if your living with pain levels that drain your energy on a daily basis and cause brain fog I would seriously suggest finding some method or modalities to help bring those pain levels to a more reasonable level. I certainly would rethink the no meds issue.
