Wow...<shaking head>…
How is it that these psychologists and doctors can not "get" their surgical skills, although technologically advanced, lead to major setbacks in areas that are not all that advanced? You have had major, major surgery. Your attitude is to be applauded. Are your "advocates" seriously showing their backs to you because you appear to be psychologically okay? This is disconcerting.
Vickie and Susie say that docs tend to shy away from acting on complaints at our recovery point. You and I had surgery on the same month and year. OK I understand that, and look forward to December when I can evaluate progress. They also mentioned contacting PT and using them as an advocate. I'm going to try this. Do you think this might help you? I'm also thinking I will make an appointment with the neuropsych because I'm desperate. Although I gave my two week notice today, I'm confident I can find something less strenuous, probably at a $5 an hour pay cut, but if I can find a way to cope with this pain and work close to home, I will be happy. Happy people cope with pain better (this appears to be you?) I have too many stressful events happening in my life that consistent pain sends me screaming. I think your attitude is a role model for people with chronic pain. I have learned a lot from your situation.
