CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR IN THE WEST PALM BEACH FL. AREA THAT WILL PRESCRIBE THE SAME THING IM GETTING NOW

Not if its Roxy. Hello and welcome to HW. I also live I FL and if that's the Med your on your most likely not going to find one. Especially new patients. The only one's who still get it here are those who have been on it a long time with the same Dr filled by the same pharmacy.

You may have to rethink that. If its something other than that then we may be able to help.

Just let me know.

ive been on morphine 100 mg and roxy 30 mg since 2008 and thats the drugs that im most comfortable with

I understand completely and sad as it is many Florida CPers have had to switch meds.

The morphine probably isn't the issue other than its on the high end dose but the Roxy will present a problem everywhere here. There are a few that are still getting it but finding a pharmacy to fill presents another problem altogether.

I live in Daytona and only the medicine shop stocks it and one small privately owned pharmacy will order it for a few longtime customers.

I wish I could be more helpful but they've made it near to impossible here to obtain that particular Med because of the high demand by drug users and the high street value.

Maybe others as they come on today will have some help.

I feel the same lahaina. Would be a tad bit respectful to at least get a bio/Dx/etc...

Have to say that I felt the same way Iahaina. HW family does not mind helping and giving support when needed but at least come on the site and introduce yourself and your reasons for wanting support, not sounding like someone who is just looking to score the right doctor. It just so happen to be the drugs that or short acting but quite addictive. Im just saying.

SORRY IF I INSULTED SOME OF YOU GUYS THAT WAS NOT MY INTENT I JUST JOINED YOU ARE CORRECT.BACK IN 2008 I WAS INVOLVED IN A 85 MPH ACCIDENT IN WHICH I SHATTERED MY RIGHT HIP BROKE THE FEMUR HEAD ALSO GOT CANAL STENOSIS OF THE CERVICAL SPINE WITH SUPERIMPOSED MULTIFACTORIAL SPONDYLOSIS FROM THE C2-C7 ALSO INJURED FROM L3-S1 ON MY BACK FROM THE ACCIDENT ALSO DEVELOPED CARPAL TUNNEL ON BOTH HANDS AND RECENTLY TORE A LIGAMENT AND THE MINISCUS ON MY LEFT KNEE FROM TRYING NOT TO PUT SO MUCH WEIGHT ON MY RIGHT HIP IN WHICH IN 2010 I HAD TO GET A HIP REPLACEMENT THOSE ARE A FEW OF THE INJURIES THAT I HAVE.THE REASON I ASKED IF ANY ONE COULD HELP ME WITH THE NAME OF A GOOD DOCTOR IS THAT MINE IS RETIRING.(ONCE AGAIN SORRY FOR JUST ASKING LIKE THAT AND SORRY FOR OFFENDING SOME OF YOU)

rfrankie25 Welcome to Healing Well Chronic Pain Forum, looks like things got off on a bit of a rocky start for you. I guess that is trouble with forums, all we have to go by is the written words that we write down! Just wish you could have told us about your condition, at the beginning, but hind site is 20/20 and now all we can do is go forward from here! Looks to me like you have really had allot of damage done to you body, and it is no wonder you have problems with Pain!. I do not live in Florida so I can not be of any help to you on that! But I can tell you your not alone with trying to find pain doctors that will continue with your current pain management treatment. Anymore it is getting harder and harder just to find a pain doctor that will even prescribe pain medications! I think that now people understand why you are looking for an new Pain Management Doctor and they know a little something about, you, that more people will be more receptive and warm to Welcome you here!

It is always difficult to communicate when all you have is what is written before you. I mean there is no facial expressions to see,  or tone of voice or inflection of the voice to hear, or hand gestures or body language, none of the things that add to and make communications more complete, and easy to understand! So it makes it all the more important to try and convey as much information as possible in these written posts.

Anyway I hope we have not scared you off! Miss understanding can happen, so I hope you continue to post and let us get to know you better, and you can also have a chance to get to know us better!

Good Luck on your search for a new doctor!

THANKS FOR THE WARM WELCOME IT WAS ACTUALLY MY FAULT OF NOT THINKING AND JUST ASKING FOR PEOPLES HELP WITHOUT WARMING UP TO ANYONE AND FOR THAT ONCE AGAIN IM TRULY SORRY.IT'S JUST AFTER RESEARCHING AND SEARCHING WITH VERY FEW LEADS I WAS JUST NOT THINKING CLEARLY,HOPEFULLY I CAN ALSO HELP PEOPLE IN THIS FORUM AND FIND A COUPLE OF FRIEND HERE ONCE AGAIN I ASK FOR YOU GUYS FORGIVENESS.

Hi again and thank you for understanding, I'm fairly sure you've gotten people who judge you simply by the meds you use and actually asked you who your Dr is. We have to be so careful and are protective of the few good Drs that treat us.

Has your retiring Dr gave you any ideas? Many times it smooths the way if they make a referrel for you. Its sometimes someone they're friends with or went to school with.

Have you got a good relationship with your Pharmacist? Many times they are your best source but they wont if they dont know and trust you.

Like I said Im up North of you in Florida but do know a great Dr in Orlando. My emails public and if travel isn't an issue shoot me a note and I will email you the information.

Hello and welcome to HW.Sorry if you weren't made to feel welcome.I don't think that was anyone's intent.This is one of the only Forums where the discussion of pain medication is confined to taking it responsibly.There are so many other Forums that discuss irresponsible abuse.I guess that's something that's kind of sacred here.

Yes I can, my PM Doctor has 4 Palm Beach locations, send me PM and I'll provide his name and info. He's awesome. I currently go to the Delray office.

Welcome! I have been a member of this forum for only a few months but have learned quite a lot & have lowered my stress too!!

This forum is more a community than 'just' a source of information. I have come to realize that this group of people, with so many things in common, are becoming friends that I care about & vice versa.

We have shared conditions, interests, physical & mental challenges, relationship concerns that people without constant pain simply cannot understand. Experience & advice is here in abundance, available just by looking but respect is a requirement.. think the friendship part is optional ; -)

And, if you wa, take the time to get to know us thru older threads & by using the search feature. And share whatever about your life that you feel comfortable making public.

This is to the original poster Mr. Frankie I assume. I have been taking MS Contin 200 mg and Roxy 30 mg for about three years now and I have no problem recommending my Dr. but he's pretty far from you. He's in Miami but he sees many patients from outside of Dade County. The only thing that happened with my meds was that I had to cut back the number of oxys I was taking to please the State of Florida. I was originally taking 360 per month and now I'm taking 200 but that's only because the pharmacies down here limit all Oxy products to a certain amount. This one pharmacy is 200 pills of any type of oxy product or in a combination. So, if you like, and if you have decent insurance, I can hook you up. It's well worth the long drive and if I didn't mention it, he sees patients from all over the country. He has quite a few from Palm Beach and some that are from New Jersey. He has been practicing for about 16 years now doing nothing but Pain Mgmt. Really good guy!!!
