My PCP wouldn't refer me to Pain Management because I had my pain medication stolen and took him a Police Report. He was forced to write me a new prescript
ion and it pissed him off.I could tell. When I later asked him to refer me to a PMC he said "I don't have time to find you a Pain Clinic".
I thought that was it.Then I got on the internet.Printed out all the Pain Managements in my area. There are hundreds within an hour of me.I started calling them. They were all very nice. They gave me Fax numbers of where to send records or MRI'S.
The one I go to now asked about
Insurance. Then they said can you come in Friday.I didn't get any Pain meds for 2 weeks until my Drug Test results came back.
I found out why they were so interested in my insurance when I got my Medicare Statement. The Drug Test they gave me was $700.00.The 1st visit I was there 3 hours. No telling what the total bill was.I haven't been billed anything.
I'm sure there are cheaper Pain Managements out there.I'd get on the phone. You'd be surprised at how far you can get with a phone call.
This isn't the end. It's a big-time bump in the road but you'll get through it.I do wish you the best of luck,
Rick
