Brand name is Embeda, I'm a bit confused about this combination as MS isn't a really big abused drug. Im even more confused because once the Nal has been added unless they can chemically compound it somehow where its only released if the MS is compromised, you wont be able to use a opiate rescue or b/t med. Most CPers do use one with morphine.

I can honestly say I can name a few more drugs highly more abused then MS they could add the Nal to and save a lot of lives.

They did this exact same thing to Talwin years ago and rendered a very good pain med useless.

Im confused really over this move!

It was recalled in March 2011 in the US. Anyways, nice to know I'm not the only one wondering about this.

I don't mind the binding agent in the OP Oxycontins.It seems like it would be impossible to crush it.I'm sure somebody's abusing it though.

But if they're putting Naloxene in MS Contin I wouldn't want to take it.

For new members or those not familiar with Naltrexone. Naltrexone and Naloxone (Narcan). are not the same drug. I mention this because the spellings are similar and those who aren't familiar with these meds may get the two confused.

Sorry about last post. Chronic Pain 20+ yrs. Been to so many dr. had medical procedures. Pain meds the strongest was NORCO since 05. Heard about the stories about OXY that scared me hoping I would never take them. I have now got to MS & Oxy breakthrough. I was discharged from hospital on a Sunday with 1wk of MS & 4dys Oxy not from my dr. I had apt with my dr Friday advised the pain meds are working for me. dr asking me how often I take each repeated script instructions. I was checking out after office had closed, I didn't have my scripts. after finding out my dr thought had written discharge script for 30dys I had my bottles with me to show only 15 total ea med and a different prescribing dr. So what did my dr think I did with 3wks of meds. I REALLY NEED MY MEDS.

Where you trying to get another dr to rx you pain meds that was different that the dr that wrote you the 2 rx's when you were dischrged from the hospital ? Sorry, I'm not understanding.

No my Dr didn't discharge me the discharge dr wrote script for 15 ea and to see my dr for refills.  My Dr apt was Fri I was out of breakthrough & MSCONTIN enough thru sunday nite.  My Dr was confused about writing script for me when I was discharged, did not see me when discharged or write any script while in hospital.  Dr figured it out after I showed her bottles and wrote scripts Thank GOD!  Pain today is tolerable, just can't do anything but walk to n from bathroom.  Yesterday I had a sinus headache which made my pain so bad only took meds as prescribed didn't help.  I used nasal spray & decongestant relieved pressure.  I hope this is better to understand.
