Hey all,

I'm on time this week.... even a little early!....... for the Monday Check In.

Most of you know the drill smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin This is the place to check in for the week.... let us know how you "survived" the weekend.... how you are doing........ and what you've got planned for the week ahead.

Well I made my long drive to my PM appointment last week and survived the trip up and back. Plan on putting up some outside Christmas Decoration this week if the weather holds out, as well as my body!! I don't turn any of the lights on till after Thanksgiving, but since it comes so late this year, I thought it might be best to get things put up before old man winter tries any thing nasty or sneaky! We have already had a dusting of the nasty cold white stuff a week ago!

Saturday, some shopping with wife, lunch at a Mexican place, long nap, peaceful evening, pain level moderate to high

Sunday, church, long nap, dinner at oldest son's house with grand kids, moderate pain levels

Monday - going to VA outpatient clinic to sign up as regular VA patient
Wednesday - every 3 months visit with oncologist
Thursday - check in at county VA affairs office
Friday - regular PT session and monthly Massage session

Lazy weekend after the turmoil of my med change. My daughter flew back to Texas yesterday but they'll be back for 2 weeks in April and again in October! Just got a frantic call from her as they hear someone trying to get in a window on the upper floor, police are on the way! We're both scared! She was right! While they were here visiting a huge racoon had taken up residence in their attic and he was heading "home " by way of the gutter!! The police chased it over the fence into the neighbors yard!

My very important PM appointment Tuesday to decide how to go after the methadone!!

Nothing else for me.

Hey folks.I'm glad you survived this "Reset" Vickie.Is this going to be your 1st prescription of Zohydro? Keep us posted.God's speed.

My PM is tomorrow also.I'm not sure if I want to ask for an increase yet.

I'll think about it.Hope everyone's week is good.Can't believe it's November 18th.

I had a happy weekend birthday lunch for me and a sister.  My mom, brother, 7 sisters & nieces  tongue  of course my husband & kids too.  it was nice to be able to get out of house.    I got a bad sinus headache aggravating my nerve pain 100x's smhair .  I was wishing I had prednisone which I hate side effects.   I had someone on this site offer info to check out infectious diseases I don't remember which one I want to thank them it looks like I may fall under that.  Hope all have a good week turn

Semi busy weekend here. Hubby took part of Friday off and took me into the ER. I've been having an issue with my foot for the last week and saw my PCP last Tuesday who said it was just bruised, by Friday I couldn't walk on it. Long story short after x-ray's nothing appears broken but they think I tore ligaments on the bottom of my foot. So I've been referred to a podiatrist for this week.

Busy with kids school stuff, our son in the middle of everything had a field trip to Tsongus in Massachusetts. Made for a long day for him. Had to be at school really early and was home about supper time.

We did a little Christmas shopping this weekend. Not a lot me and those crutches, splint and boot are not a good mix. And somehow I've managed to strain the muscles in my chest hobbling around with them and its certainly not helping my back any. So think I'll lay low for now.

Hubby is still searching in the woods for his precious little deer. Maybe just someday he'll get that 8 pointed little bugger. Until then I'm not holding my breath. He thought the other day he had a clear shot on a bear until it stood up and it ended up being a moose. Glad he didn't shoot or Mr Game Warden would have had a field day with him. lol

Other than the appointment for the foot nothing exciting going on here.

The Tsongas Arena in Lowell?

We used to live near there.  Still not too far from there.

(Had to chime in when I saw the name,...)

CP a bit higher than usual this weekend, and these darn headaches are still happening daily.  But I'm confident they're stress related.

Hubby and I took a nice, leisurely nap Sunday afternoon, and it felt quite refreshing.

Hmm I don't think it was the arena, I think it was the National History Center. They are working on learning about cotton mills, I think. lol We have the old woollen mill in our town and I think pretty sure Tsongas is the cotton mill could very well be wrong though.

We're not too far away either about an hour and a half north from Lowell. Not too bad. But they ended up renting 2 coach buses to take them down. The 4 teacher team he's on his 7th and 8th graders so they split the to grades up and did 2 tours. Our school has grades and classes a little weird since we got rid of traditional grades a few years ago and changed over to RISC form of teaching, a differewnt form of standarized learning And apparently the tours are pretty long.

Okay gotta boogie. Plans changed and not seeing the podiatrist. Orthopedic Assoc. just called and I have to be there for a 10:45 appointment because they had a cancellation. Need to get myself dressed and figure out how to hobble to my car with my crutches and get myself there. Hubby just left right before they called. lol Should be fun.

saturday was a laid back day. watched some football. sunday me and the kids went to the MIL's for brunch and she needed a few thinks done around the house. came home and watched the lions lose..
pains been some what unbearable in my legs and feet. and lower back has been bothering me also. hurts when i breath (lower back) glad i have the oxycodone to fall back on since the morphine doesn't do a thing for me. over all though the weekend was pretty good.

I noticed a lot of us were in more pain than usual this weekend....

I wondered if it was the weather.

Also hoping everyone here has been safe and unaffected by the tornadoes and downpours.

i've noticed that over the past couple years that changes in the weather effect my back pain. cold weather is a real treat..my grandmother could always predict when it would rain, her arthritus would acted up and sure enough..it would rain..

My plan for the week is to enjoy the next two weeks off from work. Staying home for the holiday this year. Daughter comes home tonight after five days in LA seeing friends and doing what college seniors do... Have to pick her up at midnight at the airport - so I slept in today.

Still struggling with my pain. Too many changes, too much pain. It started with my Pm doc changing me me from Butrans 20 mcg to Exalgo 8 mg due to the Butrans always running out at about day five.

In the first week of the new drug, I agreed to another epidural in an attempt to get my leg pain under control. Huge mistake as I had a bad reaction - the worst insomnia I have ever experienced for about ten days along with an increase in pain levels. Doc added Ambein which helped but I was a real mess for two weeks. The Exalgo wasn't doing squat, pain wise, so it was mange the best I could with my rescue meds.

Fast forward to last week, rather than up the Exalgo dose, he changed course and put me on 100 mg Nucynta ER. I did my research and while I think the drug holds hope for me, the 100 mg is has been too low to provide any benefit.

Which brings me to this weeks dilemma... Do I call the office and report the lack of pain control (without my IR drugs)? I don't want to sound like a whiner or a seeker... But I honestly don't want to wait three more weeks until the next appointment to make a change. I'm open to any and all advise!

PS: It is really frustrating. Why prescribe a months worth of drugs when you have no idea how you will react to them? It really burned me to flush $150 worth of Exalgo!

I'm in Maine about 10 miles north of Portland just off 95. Exit 63

Well just made it to the ortho. No problem with the ligaments in my foot. However apparently at some point I broke my foot in past years. I have an old fracture to the sesamoid bone that broke it in 2 and they are free floating. Never new I broke it, never hurt before the last couple of weeks. So he thinks the problem is sesamoiditis. I have a new little shoe insert to try and if that doesn't work I go back in 2 weeks and I go into a hard plastic splint for 8 weeks. Arghh. The insert better work.
