LakeDweller are you saying that the fusion has not even started to take affect? Could it be that the donor cadaver bone graft was not viable? I would definitely think that by the six month point that the fusion would be well on it way. It can take up to a year or longer for the fusion to be completely complete, but six months along it should be really showing progress. I think I would be going to another doctor to get a second opinion about
it. I have had C6/7 fused with my own bone, and then C5/6 done with donor bone and hardware, and then the posterior articular joints fused at C3/4 with donor bone and hardware, and all of them showed really good fusion progress within just a few months. Just be careful and I certainly would be entertaining the possibility of getting a second opinion this just doesn't sound quite right to me, especially if your having problems.
Good Luck to you! Oh and least I forget a BIG WELCOME to the Chronic Pain Forum here at Healing Well!!
