Merrida: Sorry you're up with pain. Some people have said pain is a "friend", I consider it an "enemy" that rips us off of quality of life. I remember when I got PT after back surgery it hurt sometimes. I was always told, if it starts hurting, stop doing it, or dial it back (walking, stretching, bending, etc.). "A mans got to know his own limitations" (Det. Harry Callahan, aka, "Dirty Harry"). Being kicked in the sacrum sounds like a horrible sensation. My back surgery also took bone off of my right hip for spinal fusion. A year before back surgery I fell on ice and fractured my tail bone. I say all that because I've described pain flare ups as someone with a big baseball bat swinging for a home run on my lower back and it radiates into my tail bone area and into my hip, won't stop pulsating, throbbing, stinging, etc. At least they fixed your "right" hip and not the "wrong" one! (feeble attempt at humor to cheer you up) :) I hope you have something for b/t pain that works. I've found that controlling the nausea also helps the pain. Do you have any Phenergan for nausea? I can't take it. Found drinking 4 tablespoons of dill pickle juice to work pretty well for me (sounds strange but works for me). Making sure I eat a little something each time I take meds helps with nausea. Staying active and interacting with people also helps me (comedy a necessary medication!). With the surgeries you've had I know you have some limitations, you're probably the best umpire of what you can and cannot do. I'm ending this with a promise to pray for you "right now", that you'll find peace and comfort coming from a source outside of yourself, and that you'll be able to rest and sleep. -Mike
