Herniated discs in back... Cant hold urine

Herniation @ L4-L5 and L5 -S1.
Cant seem to hold my urine and im constantly wetting my under garments!
I do walk slow but i am starting to think that SOMETHING is WRONG.
Any comments would help..

I have nothing to offer by way of suggestions but I do hope that it gets better and that you get some answers and get the problem taken care of.

Losing control of bladder and bowel can be an indication of nerve involvement right in the areas you discussed. I would get to a neurosurgeon immediately, and make sure this is something that can be addressed.

I agree with you, something is wrong. But please do not wait....

Hi Big & welcome to the chronic pain forum. As Merrida suggested I would get into my PCP as soon as possible & ask to be referred to a board certified neurosurgeon. The reason I am suggesting this particular type of dr is he specializes in dealing with nerves when doing surgery. An orthopedic surgeon mainly handles the bony structure.

How long has your back been bothering you & how long have you had the bladder problems going on?

Please let us know what you find out.

Welcome to HW. The others are right and this needs to be taken care of soon . Its a sign somethings going on that shouldnt be. Its Sunday but i would definately call the on-call Dr for whoever your currently seeing and if your not seeing anyone go to the to the emergency room at least . This isn't an issue that needs to be ignored nor one left unchecked for weeks or more waiting for an appointment.

Have you by any chance had any injections lately for your back problem ?

I dont have "accidents" everytime....2 or 3 times per day.
I did have 2 injections in my back in Dec. 2012. I didnt get relief... I have aLOT of pain/pressure/burning in my butt(bilaterally) and both knees & legs.
I was rear ended at work.(Bus driver) Ive been unable to work since the accident 4 months ago.
i will call the DR. in the am.
