Seymour five years ago at age 49 I had every procedure and known test run for chest pains, a constant stabbing pain in the side of my stomach, and testical pain, it was the gastro guy that sent me for cat scans of my skeleton and muscles after he scoped me up and down and gave me clean bill.
The CT showed a spondylolisthesis of my spine. After an 8hr fusion surgery the neurosurgeon said I had degenerative spondylolisthesis with spinal stenosis and a pars defect at L4-5 with major compression of the nerve roots and he had decompressed them as far out as he could. It all stemed from an occurance I had at 22 of being bent almost in half backwards.
After the surgery I was pain free for about three weeks and then developed a constant burning pain in both thighs, numbness in both legs and a constant chronic pain across my belt line that ran down both buttocks.
Now it was on to the PMD for PT and 4 years of taking almost every musle relaxer, nerve pain pills and shots in my spine above my fusion, oxycodne for break thru pain.
Four months ago after obtaining no relief I informed by PMD I have had enough. I cant take it any longer and asked about acupuncture or SI Joint therapy which he dismissed. I really liked this guy but we weren't getting anywhere and finally told him I wouldnt be back when he finally relented and said he would try the SI Joint injections.
After getting 2 to 3 weeks of relife out of each of the 3 sets of injections I am going for ablation on my left SI joint this Friday and 2 weeks later for my right SI joint and hope to get some much needed long lasting relife.
My long winded point is you have to keep after it and them the doctors, there is something wrong in your body and you just have to find it. Good luck.
