small update been awhile.

Moved to ca with a friend on 18th.. cali is beautiful but running into problems.. workers comp carrier hasnt paid me my award backpay 45 days past deadline, and hasnt paid me my weekly money since march 26th im owed like 2500 bucks.. im all alone in ca and going to end up in a shelter thanks to them. they ignore my attorney, me, their own attorney and my comp board examiner.

also finally got an apt with a new dr to try to get refills on my fentanyl and oxy i only have 4 patches left i see the dr on the 11th

So sorry you are having issues.. hope these are resolved ASAP!!

As a fellow chronic pain sufferer whose life is also at the mercy of workmans comp,
I believe that the entire system is long overdue for a major overhaul,
starting at the top with the people who allow non-compliance, ie do not punish when the laws are not enforced.

You may be able to find some help with shelter at the link below. Be sure and call before you go or count on them being there to verify that they are still open and accepting clients.

i found one but its first come first serve and they are full with the regulars atm, and they dont reserve beds. not many up here

That's a pretty rural area up there. Beautiful though. Many campgrounds. One of my favorite places in CA. Weather has at least been decent so u can enjoy the beautiful coastline. Any chance of moving inland a bit? U may have better luck.

no car and cant drive 1 of my hands is paralyzed and im on fentanyl, so im forced to take bus and no money atm but i would move anywhere i could find a place near by

Well where is your friend? Why there? Can you go home? There are places that will help with busfare home if your transient as well as many police stations that will provide a voucher for motel if your stranded in their jurisdiction and trying to get home somewhere else.

Too funny Vickie....I was about to ask the exact same thing! Luie, may I ask why you moved to CA? That's a pretty bold move from NY(?) to CA - especially if there was no 'plan' in place! Just curious - you can tell me MYOB! Lol I sure hope the PM isn't going to be a hassle - I heard that it can be rough out there to get treatment (in regards to medication). And that's a good idea that Vickie gave you about the PD.

Well Splash I recall Luie having some pretty tough and crazy stuff going on in his life awhile back and wondered if this was a moment where someone offered him a way out of his old life and he took it on spur of the moment without planning, depending on WC holding up to their part of the bargain settlement (wished you'd of asked about that) and if friend ditches him in Cali or if friends also going to be homeless? Wondering about friends financial situation and whether they can work, drive, etc?

As for myob? The more info we have the better we understand what's being asked and that makes how we approach helping more onspot, or that's always been my way of looking at it. Some people wouldn't agree obviously have had my share of a lack of appreciation for my advice! Lol. Splashdancer we tend to think in the same direction!

no i didint settle my case, they are just not paying me the money the judge told them to pay at the last hearing, and also not paying my biweekly money. There is a hearing on the 9th of may for penalty for non/late payment.

the reason i have to move out is not simple, its not upto my friend .. due to family problems i just have to move.. it was only temp anyway.. i didint plan on not being paid my money for a month.. i was supposed to have the 2500 dollars in hand and be able to get a place within the 3 weeks i have been here.

yes i did move to get out of the situation i have nothing in NY only family drama and bs.. none of which help me.

i was told today they are over-nighting 998.22 today and also sending out the 6 weeks of pay. they have said this 2 other times so .. idk.


i did go to dss and they gave me temp FS while not getting my comp. 170.00 in food helps alot but the only shelter here is first come first serve daily but has regulars and has been full.

Well my experience with shelters luie is you wouldn't be allowed to keep your meds on premises nor would you want to! Hopefully they will actually DO what they say they're going to this time and send the money!

I thought when they said they only had 4 patchs left and would be seeing the dr on the 11th, that they wouldn't have any medication. Luie, do you see the dr on June 11 ? May 11 is this Sunday.
