Glad surgery and post-op were uneventful and hopefully the nausea and vomiting should slow down soon and that your sleeping the sleep of the pain free!!

Although I have heard some folk complain about getting comfortable sleeping until the soreness of the surgery goes away but prop up some pillows and keep us informed and updated.

Hi I survived the night LOL, between four and ten last night was realy rough! Finally was able to keep my ten PM meds down and just had ice chips the rest of the night! Did have to give myself a bolus once during the night but other wise was good. I was having allot of mid back spasms and both sides of the belly spams, but I think that is from that stupid belly binder they have on me, it goes from my chest to my waist, and it is tight! But the nurse said my doc swears by them and insist that his patients wear them, the first week.  So I will wear it! Ha,

Got a question, for any body familiar with morphine, does it make you a litte itchy?  I have noticed it late last night and this morning, not really  bad but  just a little annoying but no spots or hives or anything, just a bit of itching? I thought it might be just the binder but also notice it on my arms and legs a little?   I will keep an eye on it as if it gets worse I will call the doctor about it.

Anyway thats my up date.

I notice it with Oxy in any form but not with MS. Hoping that goes away or they may be looking at your options for different meds. I do know I recall seeing it more with IV and IM morphine then po.

Also this may help. When I spent a year in the knee brace it was so irritating that I was about to ditch it when one of the GI Docs at work, go figure, told me to get some of the soft cotton rolls like they use for casting and wrap up the knee first and then the brace. Worked wonders. Cooler and a lot less itchy and irritating and didn't feel as tight for some reason when it wasn't right next to my skin.

I'm assuming the Dr uses the wrap to better insure that no leads, catheter or the pump shifts in any way for the first week or so. Really great idea as most problems occur in that time period when your not used to having it and your tissue hasn't grabbed on to help anchor securely.
