I just thought I would update you on the skin cancer scare. I went and saw the doctor. She looked at it with a magnifying glass type thing. She said that it is Seborrheic Keratoses. Thank God there's no cancer. She asked me if I would like her to freeze it off. I said sure. She said it would be cold. It wasn't cold, but it did hurt a little. It is starting to come a loose in pieces. I'll be glad when it's gone, so I can be rid of it.
I have them on my face, but they're flat. She asked if any others bothered me. I told her no. I was so happy that it wasn't cancer, that I didn't think that they bug me because I know they're there. I wish I would have asked her to do it to those too.
Well, I hope you're all having a low pain evening.
love and hugs

Hi Loretta,
Wonderful news!! I'm assuming you could always call the doc back and make an appt to freeze those other spots too. Just explain to them that you were so focused on the one and so relieved that you really didn't give any thought to the other ones. Glad you are ok though.
Skin cancer is one of those things that everyone needs to watch out for, and it's kinda hard because things change so gradually, you can't even see a lot of your own skin, like on your back or stuff like the backs of your legs, etc, and you may not have any symptoms telling you that something is wrong, like pain, illness, or your body not functioning right.
My Mom was diagnosed with skin cancer (on her nose and another tiny spot on her face) quite a few years ago. Thank God it hadn't spread or anything and all that needed to be done was remove the spots. She ended up coming home from the doctor with this giant bandage covering like half of her face--she had to have a piece of skin taken from the back of her ear grafted onto her nose to cover the area where the cancer had been removed from. She pretty much acted like it was nothing, but ever since that day, I have been more aware of taking care of my skin, and I don't mean to look pretty. My mom has also taken really good care of her skin and gets on my dads case about
wearing sunscreen.
Really glad that there was no cancer in your case!! Take good care of you.

Thats Awesome News Loretta!! It's a relief to you I'm sure but those are really common as we age but as you found fairly simple to eradicate. Definitely call and ask for an appointment to have the ones that bother you done. Cosmeticly they can look worse to us then they really are but if they are worrisome I would definitely do it!
Good thing you were at least paying attention to changes.

Thank you ladies for your replies. I think I'm going to call and make an appointment to get the others taken care of. They're black, and being on my face, I just don't like them.
I hope you're having a low pain evening.
love and hugs

Loretta:
I'm so VERY HAPPY that there's no skin cancer. A dear friend of mine, just went through having a large area of her skin and tissue removed on her hand that was skin cancer. I know from talking with her and knowing how she felt; I can just imagine how worried you must have been about
it.
Just wanted you to know that I'm so happy for you. Hope you pain levels are lower and you're dong well. Take care of yourself and keep in touch.
Hugs,
Barbara

The timing our clan always manages to amaze me.
I just had two growths removed and sent to pathology to check.
And I have an appointment in September for a total look-see by one of the areas top Dermatologists to check everything over and examine me for skin CA. I was not good, nor nice, nor gentle, with my skin. I've got the battle wounds of various skin disorders, as well as really showing big time signs of sun damage from the many, many,.........many years of my sun worshiping.
It's always wonderful news to get a negative path report!! Good for you. Let us know how you make out with the others, and know I'm right there with you in this little adventure! :)

Thank you Barbara. Merrida, and Chartreaux. Actually she didn't send the thing to pathology. She looked at it with a magnifying glass type thing, and said it was benign. I can't remember the name of it. It's in my original post.
She froze it and it came off completely just a couple of days ago.
Merrida I really do pray that your's are benign. You've been through so much.
I hope you're all having a low pain evening.
I'm doing pretty well. It's awfully hot today. Thank god for our air conditioner.
love and hugs
