Hands and feet are throbbing and burning and I feel like throwing up...so so very tired of all this constant throbbing pain.
So, angry at this pain, lying awake, wanting to sleep....needing to vent this....no, I'm not okay and tired of everyone asking me, How are you? Especially when they really don't want to hear me say "No"....
Don't you just hate these non caring questions....

Sorry, but I can't sleep tonight and its so very much pain related.....

Huge vent, my apologies.....

Well as I peek at the time I can say Welcome to the Night Train because here I am....

(Wondering where Vickie is since that woman never sleeps,....she's like our full time Hall Monitor!)

I'm sorry that you're feeling yucky Char, I know what it's like.

Most of the time, when people ask us how we're doing, it's a sense of being polite and only our really close friends seem to be interested in the truth.

We don't always *have* to be okay, and when we're not, just like you, I'm glad that I can come here and vent away and not be judged for it.

BTW, yours isn't a huge vent. It's a wee one!

I'll be walking the halls tonight with you....can't sleep.....

I'm here too!! And brought along some frustration as well. Thinking of more sleep meds though, haven't gotten much sleep in over a week thanks to steroids. Wow, am I am ugly person on those things!! Not nice at all.

Anyway, just wanted to say I am sorry you are hurting, and that you are not alone. Wishing I could do something to make you feel better. How about a very gentle hug?

Hoping you can find some way to be a bit comfortable and maybe find a distraction, like putting on a funny movie or something.

My tummy and back are fighting over who hurts more. Personally I think it's a 3 way tie between them and my head. But who am I to say? Gonna go pile on the ice packs and attempt to think happy thoughts. Or at least not horrible thoughts!!

Feel better!!

Just thinking something....I sure hope my elderly neighbors like my music, lately it's been my savior, nice and loud, day and night. No complaints yet though.

I'm here!! Was on the mod forum sticking my already hurting foot in my mouth!

Sorry Char, the long hours of night in pain is my best friend for life I guess. No sooner then I seem to fall asleep letting my guard down the pain monster strikes and no amount of sleep meds help! Mostly knock me out for an hour in whatever position I happen to be in when they hit me and then when I wake up it's just worse!

This time I opened my mouth and bragged yesterday I had been migraine free for a decade! Woke with that distant but familiar aura so had to head that off before looking at the forum but been up since 3.

When ppl ask if I'm OK and I know they're really not asking to hear it? I usually respond with something like "I was given 2 days to live " you would be surprised at the ppl who respond with "oh thats good " or oh I'm sorry " not listening!!

Hoping you get some relief soon and back to sleep!

LOL - sometimes when people ask me how I am, I respond in Hebrew or Greek and almost NOBODY ever notices, they just say 'that's good.' There are few people though, thankfully, who really want to know, and most of the time I answer "so crappy" and they sympathize or give me a hug.

I'm sorry you didn't get any sleep. I hope a better day is in the cards for you today.

I really want to thank y'all. Walked that halls last night, I just wish I knew if it was tos or RA pain, I do see the RA doc next week, hopefully he can help me.
Thanks for your understanding and comfort....I'm very sore this morning but the throbbing has lessened some...

Like you Char, I am waiting on my MO appt. next week. Can't wait to find out what is behind this sleep problem and constant cough. Thanks for the reminder to LISTEN. Even the best of us can go into robot drive and say the dumbest things, I know I can. I'm wishing you a solid eight hours . . . Q

I thought I was the only one that spouted out inconsequential replies to that question (when you can tell they're just passing time and not really paying attention!)

I hear you, sometimes when someone ask how I'm doing I just say...okay...and that's it, I'm just so tired.

At other times I say i'm in pain and get a glazed look or an "mmm, okay then..." and that makes me feel worse.

Another big one people will say is I look so tired and look like I'm in pain...um...yeah!! then act like they're not interested.

Sorry you're suffering and hope you can get some sleep.

I get the glazed over eyes bit a lot, I guess it's partly my fault because when I was first Dxed with cancer my jerk of an oncologist told me that I had 18 months to live. I was scared and I shared that news with a lot of my friends(at the time). When it turned out that he was wrong (I'm going on my 8th year now, YAY!!!) they all thought that I was crying wolf and most of them dropped me from their list of friends, more pity them. These people now give me the glazed over eye look as though it would have been more truthful if I was already dead.

I just do what you do, say I'm fine and get on with my business. I have made plenty of new friends through this disease that I really don't miss those fair weather folks a bit turn . . . . Q

Just that when the doctor asks me this next week, for the past few months I've felt like heck and I really don't get why doctor's ask you this, because if you felt good why would you be at the doctor's???

Guess that's why I brought this up, Maybe my batteries are running low, from lack of sleep...hopefully tonight I'll be able to recharge...
One of my boy toys (cat) gave me a good scratch today about 4 inches long he needed to be clipped and decided he'd had enough so one whack and then back to his room...I'll finish his claws tomorrow...live to clip another day...

Was this a regularly scheduled app? Cause MO always asks me how I'm doing every month. Our little girl kitten was trained at the pound to enjoy having her nails clipped it's really funny, she extends one claw after he other. Our big boy will have none of it. All the best . . . Q
