I see she's either not been to bed after a long night in the ER waiting for a bed or she's already gotten a few hours sleep and headed back.

He was admitted for an infection and was scheduled for pacemaker placement Monday so that's likely going to have to be put on hold and it really needed to be done with the severity of arrhythmia happening.

Prayers for him and her as sitting in a hospital is not an easy deal when your a CPer.

Susie we will keep up the vigil here until he's safely home and well. Try not to lessen the staff pool, I know some of them can be infuriating but it's hard to get good help. Lol

Thanks so much folks. We still do not know much except he has a bad infection in his leg. His infectious disease dr sent over a dr from their practice to check on him this evening. He changed the antibiotics around to something different. Hopefully this will kick in & work.

Will keep you posted as we go along......

I've not heard but a little from her earlier when she stopped home to try to get a nap in, she's not getting much sleep and sounded exhausted. She did say that the infection Dr says no surgery yet and that there's possibly some gout giving him some of the trouble with his leg and feet. Pretty much waiting for the antibiotics to work so they can get the cardiac Dr to move on to get the pacemaker placed.

She will let us know something when she does I suppose and I hope she's getting some rest.

Update : She finally got some sleep last night she said and hubby's responding to antibiotics, swelling in leg going down some and he's feeling better. Cardio says the plan is to put the pacemaker in Monday and watch him overnight and if alls well let him go home Tuesday. Infection disease Dr isn't quite onboard with that plan but cardiologist says it has to go in sooner rather than later so that trumps infection that's being treated. Susie says she will try to stop by the forum late tonight when she gets in.

Thank you for the update. Prayers for both of them: Susie so she can get some peace and rest, and her hubby so that he heals swiftly and can move through this procedure (and everything else going on) as smoothly and comfortably as possible.

Update: He was taken for pacemaker placement around 4:30 yesterday afternoon and did well. She finally got home and gave me word about 1:30 this morning, she's exhausted and paying the price of being on her feet that long and I'm expecting from what she said he should be released later today if No complications arise. Hoping for that to happen for both their sakes. She said other than being scared he did fine as this was his first surgery outside of a knee scope.

I'm sure she will stop by when she can and thanks everyone for your continued prayers.

I'm so grateful for the success of his procedure.  Hopefully, with some passage of time, this will make a tremendous difference with his well-being.  I know that Susie is beyond exhausted, mentally and physically.  It is often said that the caretaker suffers more than the patient...I've been in both shoes and found neither to be "comfortable" by any stretch of the imagination.

I send my continued thoughts and prayers for rest and rejuvenation for you both=)

Thank you for the update. And absolutely, prayers for the both of them.

For this being only his second surgery in his lifetime, he sure picked a doozy, eh? Good news that there were no complications, and here's to hoping Susie gets some time to recoup from all the running around (and standing around), and here's to her husband's swift and timely return back to the comforts of home.

As always, thank you for keeping us in the loop. HW's Direct Prayer Line is high powered!

Update: He apparently was doing pretty good during the night since she said he was fussing about food and bedpans? Lol

They checked the pacemaker and It's working, waiting for both Dr's to sign off and that was at noon so I'm guessing he got a late release or still there waiting!



I expect to hear later what is happening.
