Members I started to remove this from the forum but decided it really didn't violate any rules since OPs not selling anything nor giving you false information. So I decided to use it to discuss tolerance issues instead.

Please note that this drug is obsolete in it's origional class of treatment for ulcers and is not readily available in the US and there are no clinical trials officially supporting it being used off label. However in it's original trials for label use it showed to have the side effect on trial participants to lower tolerance to their pain meds specifically opiates.

That being said many drugs in trial studies show side effects in certain humans that's the purpose of trials and occasionally those side effects turn into the drug being reformulated and sold as a treatment for the side effect specifically. Viagra is a good example of this. It was created out of a side effect from another drug for an entirely different use.

The med the Op here is talking about is a CCK inhibitor and showed promise in blocking tolerance through the means of metabolism and breakdown of opiates and you can probably find more detailed account of how by researching it more thoroughly. Anyway there's a drawback that's prevented off label prescribing in the US and that is your body very quickly catches on to what's happening and you are likely going to see tolerance to the promulgide within a week to 10 days. Meaning it works great out the door but not so very shortly. Those who are outside the US and that have access to it and take in conjunction with opiate therapy do so in a on week off week routine to slow down that tolerance issue.

There's actually a few other meds in the same class.

By now you are all thinking that here's a means to prevent burnout on our meds and having to deal with tolerance issues and not seeing the same relief as we use to, suffering when maybe we would not have to? Why then are they not telling us about this? Why isn't available?

Imagine the teens early out experimenting with the hydro he stole from the family med cabinet and the wonderful Dr Google tells him how to get even higher? The consensus seems to be that addicts wouldn't need as much if they could get their hands on this but we know that is not the case. The bigger the doses the better the high for them but this time the dose turns lethal due to needing more for the same euphoria.

Its back to do the advantage outweigh the risk? The FDA doesn't think so. They believe the accidental overdoses would be at an all time high and knowing what I know about pain and to what ends some would go too chasing relief I don't think the accidents would not spill over into pain management.


Hope everyone gets a broader bit of knowledge and understands why I chose to elaborate on this post rather than delete it.

Now you now why I left it and why the FDA won't consider approval for it off label. You would be surprised how many desperate CPers would try anything to help and touting this as not dangerous is misleading.

Poplar it's so old and obsolete I don't think you can get anymore here. I'm betting its all coming from an out of country online pharmacys.

I'm also guessing he won't show back up and that's why I started to just delete the whole post, then saw it had like 50 hits meaning everyone of those read this thing and how many would believe it or try it? I wanted everyone to understand this isn't a good thing if it were don't you think the drug companies would have pushed it? Millions of addicts and CPers out there. They knew it was dangerous to use this drug in the fashion the OP is doing.

I just hate when they post bad info and we have no idea how many people see it.

Y'all are right. It is quite scary to realize just how many people OD on prescription drugs every day. Somehow, I dont think that the majority of these folks actually woke up that day and decided to overdose and die. It's a tragic "mistake"

My youngest daughter lost a high school classmate 2 years ago. This kid had gone through his freshman year at a university out of town. He got seriously hooked on prescription drugs, Opana was his drug of choice. One Friday night, his parents were on their way out of the house for a weekend at the beach, and he told his parents not to worry he was there to watch the house and the dog. When they got home Sunday night, he was in the same place on the couch. Cold and dead. He had died from Opana OD sometime Friday night.

I guess that's one of my reasons to get bent out of shape when I see even a hint of "something not smelling right". To me, that's the correct category for the person who originated this post.

We just don't need crap like that. IMHO. I am so glad that there are folks here with a medical background who know about this kind of stuff! Whew!

Yeah,I don't think my PMD would be too happy about me taking something to make the meds she prescribes stronger.

In fact,I'm pretty sure I'd be looking for a new PMD.

I did a Google Search and read about someone sending $120 to somewhere overseas and not receiving anything.And they couldn't remember where they had sent it.

My 2nd click took me to a legitimate Forum for Spinal Desease.It must have become a Link before they Edited the name.

It's interesting but I'm pretty sure my PMD wouldn't want me fooling with what she has me taking.

She's the 1st Doctor that told me "I'm going to get you out of pain".And she has.So,I feel that I owe her the respect of following my Contract.

This Post may be on a lot of Boards.I may search a little and see.

I agree 100% with you Vickie.And I think you did right with the Thread.Tolerance issues are something we all have experienced.We talk to our Doctors about that.

good call Vickie, topic is legit but not with a means to a level of enjoyment. i enjoy ice cream. i have a 100% back and forth advisement of all meds and tolerance, potentation, or synergistic meds with my doctor who treats me well. i have taken a ten year period to build a high level of trust between my physician and myself including blood and urine screening for my quality of life and his protection from fed gov agencies. a pharmacist was shot and killed in my area a few months back then the shooter went down the street and committed armed robbery to get a few oxycontin and percocet, then a high speed chase down the road with 40 police cars giving chase, then the thief shot at them. we are in a category that demands total compliance and trust, i have changed my phone number to screen out so called friends who call and say how bad their foot hurts and can you help me. the fine line is starting to become finer. we lack the ability to gather in numbers to picket for a reason so these fools are the public image of pain medicine.
