Panic attack (o/t)

I suffered panic attack during the night time. It was awful. Woke up feeling like I couldn't breath, heart racing, sweating and my mind was literally in a panic like it was life or death. It has happened during the day time but not as much as night. One day I ended up in the ER because I was just sure I was having a heart attack. They did all these fancy (and expensive) tests just to tell me it must have just been a panic attack!
Anyway, what has worked for me is I take 75mg of Elavil (Amitriptyline) at bedtime. I no longer wake up in the night with anxiety or panic attacks. During the day and up until bedtime if I feel anxiety coming on I take Ativan(Lorazapam). I think my dose is actually 1mg but I bite off a little piece and let it dissolve in my mouth and I'm usually ok then.

Something else that may be helping is the other meds I'm taking:
Abilify 2mg
Wellbutrin XL 200mg twice a day
So, I'm take 4 meds for depression and anxiety. It took a long time to get the right combination!!

I did start Tramadol, but actually both panic attacks happened before then. And I have been on tramadol many times in the past and it hasn't had that effect. I started the Tramadol on Tuesday of this week and the last attack happened last Friday before my baseball game outing. In that case I'm sure it was the anxiety over the outing that caused it.

I take xanax for anxiety PRN, and I was never more grateful to have it around. I'm rx'ed up to 4 per day, .5 mg, but I rarely take it more than twice.
