yepp, they called the day before saying, "Dr. X doesn't do that surgery anymore and isn't comfortable doing a consult since he wouldn't do a surgery. so there is no point driving all this way." a year ago he said i had to go a year seizure free then he would consider helping, guess he changed his mind
why did they even schedule it in the first place? at least they didn't just take my money for the consult and send me home with nothing, guess thats the bright side. Its like I literally scare these Dr's to death....
I asked if I could just TALK with the dr(he is THE shoulder specialist in my area and does mainly replacements and big time surgeries now), as he saw me when the problem first started, explained I just wanted his opinion on the surgery i will be having,
but the nurse was a little BAD WORD and just said "he said don't come".
So I asked her if another Dr.that does do "this type of surgery" would see me.(they are suppose to see me as they have relocated my shoulder many times in ER but always refuse my follow up appointments saying "we won't do surgery on you"
As I'm on my way today to my pre-op appointment, his "B" of a nurse calls, and says. "Dr. Phillips says he's not doing surgery on you and won't see you" I again explain, I do not want a surgery consult, for THEM to do the surgery, but was looking for a 2nd opinion on the surgery i had planned, and she states. "he has a right to decline any patient he wants", so I just hung up.
It just made me realize no other surgeon is remotely willing to talk to me, much less touch me or do surgery so I may want to jump on the chance of having a really good surgeon willing to do surgery, and just have the dedgum thing.
(current ortho does the surgeries for kids at St.Jude with osteosarcoma and does bone transplants and such, so taking on my medicaid and case was something he could have just passed by without blinking an eye. He may not have an ounce of personality but I do think he'll do a good job in the OR)
Scheduled surgery today for the 8th. Praying all goes well.
sorry that turned into a lot more words than needed or planned
