No, oral anti-inflamms do not always do the trick. With an injection the medication goes directly to the area, there is a big difference. It is very unlikely an injection could cause extra problems otherwise drs would not be allowed to do the injections. There is a very good possibility of the cortisone taking care of the inflammation & you never having any further issues with it. I believe that was the point the dr was trying to make with you.
Good luck, the injection is just that an injection no big deal & I am terrified of needles, always have been.
