I doubt if anyone is up right now but I've been at the ER with my 18 year old daughter since 2 this afternoon. She has severe pelvic pain and after catscan they found her Fallopian tube was full of fluid possibly from her recent endometriosis surgery. I am overwhelmed that she is going through this and hurting so bad I can hardly walk myself. Usually don't carry Meds with me and I've been without for about 30 hours and was up all night so no sleep for about 34 hours. I'm a mess trying to be strong for her and not go freaky on anyone. OU Medical center is amazing for women's problems and that's why I brought here but everyone in Oklahoma City seems to be here too. Sorry about the rant I'm just exhausted and in so much pain right now. Please offer prayers for my Bethany. Thank you

So Sorry your daughters having problems and as a CP mom of 5 I understand the need to push on when one of them is ill. I think it's harder because we are on an up close and personal level with pain so we know what they are dealing with and our first instinct is to help our children.

Prayers to her that the wonderful Dr's at OU relieve her pain and get the issues fixed. Don't push too hard she's going to need you in coming days.

Ugh, I'm so sorry you went through that. That's a nightmare, being at an ER and not having your meds with you :( I usually take a few with me if I think I'm going to be in a place where I might be stuck.

Please keep us posted, I hope she got some relief.

Update on Bethany:

Thank you all for advice and prayers. Got Bethany home about 430 this morning. They didn't admit her which I have mixed emotions about but I know this will be a long haul for her so...she's resting well and they kept her pain free while there. Waiting for a call from a gyn specialist that was called last night, probably won't hear back till tomorrow...I'm rambling sorry...

Ultrasound showed 2 cysts one that was leaking fluid. The dr said the fluid build up in her tube could be the endometriosis or just from the laprascope that was done in August. I'm amazed that her body has done all this in just a few short months. I know the surgeon could have missed some endo, but I also know it grows fast too. At any rate totally concerned about her physically but even more so mentally. Chronic pain and female problems are hard to deal with at any age but even more so for younger people. Hopefully will find a counselor that fits for her condition. She has 3 older sisters and very good relationship with them all so that is a plus for her as well.

Note to self to ALWAYS carry a few meds with me. I should have known better!!! 14 hours in an ER without ... Well, lesson learned!

Anyway today is total rest day...I've made pumpkin bread and chai tea and we are cuddling, watching football and napping the rest of the day!

Hey Cheri.I'm good.Just relaxing.Going back and forth between Football and Always Sunny on Netflix.

Hope your Daughter is resting and not hurting.

Hopefully the Doctor can see her tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a relaxing low-pain day.

Hi Cheri,

Really sorry to hear about the ordeal with your daughter and the ER. Maybe something good will come of it though, and she will be able to get treatment with a good gyn. sooner. Praying for you and her. It certainly is a tough thing, and I cannot imagine watching your child go thru that pain, I know for my mom, she has quite often ended up feeling really frustrated--or really just helpless and scared, it just comes out as frustration I think. But it sounds like you are doing everything you can to help and support her. Just be sure you take care of you too!!

And definitely always carry some extra meds (and a current med list) with you, you never know when your plans to go out for a little while may end up to be a long while. I can completely understand though, how you weren't thinking of yourself or your pain when you were busy trying to get your daughter to the ER!

Hope you are both resting today, just taking it easy, feeling a bit better. Anything you need, just post it, this group is fantastic about supporting one another and giving good advice, etc.

It sounds encouraging that she may end up with the best care there at OU. Granted you hate seeing her in this mess, but now that her foot is in the door there, hopefully they will be able to get to the bottom of all of this & she get some real help.

Dixie has her email in several of her posts as well.

Ask your pharmacist for a "purse bottle " and have them label it as your regular bottle, it will be much smaller but not illegal since it will have all the identical info on it. Don't keep many pills in it just a few for emergency like this.

Hey Cheri...I am SO SORRY that I was MIA for 3 days...Problems with my 88 year old mom at her nursing home.  Well, actually, as always, she IS the problem...I digress.

You can email me ANYTIME [email protected] am so very sorry for not only your personal suffering, but also for your Bethanny.  I don't claim to be an expert on endometriosis, but I have a lifetime of experience with what was FINALLY diagnosed as stage 4...only AFTER my liver failed.  (long story).  I would be happy to do whatever I can to help y'all.
