Thanks for your comment, FB. I do have a TENS unit, but my pain is in my abdomen and frankly I think there's too much, let's just call it 'padding' for the electro-stim to get through. I've used bio freeze on muscle aches and it works wonders, I agree, but my pain is nerve pain.

I do have lidocaine cream for my, ahem, "other" ailment, but I haven't had the guts to try it yet because of where I'd have to apply it. Yikes.

I will definitely try to have a merry Christmas, for you, LOL. We will be visiting my mother in law, who lives in a very quiet, peaceful (yet freezing) place. I do enjoy going there, though four hours in the car each way is not something I'm looking forward to. I'll just load up on THC caps, probably.

BTL, when my wife gets home I will ask her what might help you, she loves neurological quests. She's a physical therapy assistant but she knows more than the PT's she works with, I hope you have a good day, so around 5pm east coast time look for my reply..

I am starting pelvic floor PT tomorrow, which I'm optimistic but REALLY scared about. It's NOT going to be pleasant. My doc even told me "this is a no pain, no gain situation" cry

Thank you for thinking of me!

I was minutes late for my appointment, then had to fill out paperwork (which I requested be sent to me in advance for the very purpose of NOT having to arrive early and fill it out). So, my session started 1/2 hour late and the therapist was packed all day.

We only really did the q/a part of the intake, no physical exam.

I was in so much pain all day. I was crying in her office. She seemed caring, but also firm. Kinda like a person who will be a shoulder to cry on but also give you a kick in the booty when you need it. That's my first impression. So, I think it's going to take me a while to click with her but that I will eventually.

When you're talking about the kind of therapy that I'll be having, it's pretty important (I think) to feel comfortable personally with the therapist. So, if we're going to go slow and get to know each other, I'm good with it (omg, it sounds like I'm talking about dating her, I know).

So :shrug: still don't know how it will be for me physically, but I will say I took an IR med and a valium before I went in for the appt. And I plan to continue doing that unless (until?) she says I can't.

My pain has been RIDICULOUS for a while, so I caved and called PM doc AGAIN today. He said I could take an extra IR and ER med today and come in to the office in the AM.

Padding...I like that descriptor... gonna use that one.

I *absolutely* agree with your comment that you have to feel comfortable with your therapist. I am able to really relax my arm with two of the PT ladies but the dr only has to walk in and I start guarding. He is way too rough even when I tell him to be gentle. I am sure this one will be able to help you.

As for the dating....does paying her constitute a misdemeanor in your state? ;*)
