somethings not right...

That doesn't sound like withdrawl.  Although even if your still taking narcotic pain meds you would still have moriphine withdrawl, your body is use to that one so when not taking it your body should withdrawl. 

Anyway, it sounds like the Flu that's going threw our office right now.  Same exact symptoms so maybe you have a Flu.  The constipation is one that's not on the Flu list but since you're still taking pain meds this is probably causing that.

Could always go to your PCP and get tested to see what you have.

I haven't had any experience with med withdrawal, but that sounds like an odd assortment of symptoms to be blamed just on the meds. The seizure is what I would probably focus on, but you know your body. Have you seen a Dr? I definitely would-especially before the craziness of the holidays.

Well having been through the w/ds from hades I can tell you that there's absolutely no set of rules or list of symptoms to follow!! I went through some of the craziest stuff and felt so strange some days I just knew I had to be dying of something since I had symptoms that made no sense and felt so weird what else could it have been? I had the headache and I call it that for lack of a detailed word, not a garden variety headache at least 2 months. The ringing river rushing sound didn't stop completely until I was through titration. I actually only ate little Debbie's cakes and chocolate pie for months, only thing that didn't taste like cardboard!! I slept fitfully on hour intervals only when exhaustion took over and usually woke feeling disoriented and a bit confused to time and place, couldn't recall if it was 2 in the afternoon or 2 in the morning. Had a constant pain between my shoulders almost a feeling like air bubble in there. A general malaise that could cause me to get breathless walking from chair to bathroom, like my legs were made of rubber and I had lead boots on.

There you have what it feels like when your body after 13 years of daily high opiate levels suddenly has less and less.


So I can see that being what's going on and " flu like " symptoms is the number 1 symptom of opiate of any variety withdrawal.

Now how can you have w/ds when your actually still on opiates? Not all opiates are created equal and you can experience all those and more just by changing from one to another and by letting the blood serum levels drop even slightly. That same benefit of obtaining and maintaining a therapeutic blood level by daily use also is your worst enemy coming down or off.

This is where many Dr's don't get it. They have a general consensus that one opiate covers another and any amount keeps w/d at bay and that couldn't be further from the truth. For whatever reason clonidine stops or blocks the majority of that from occuring and not even the manufacturer understands how or why it just does. A simple 7 day patch or a pill a day can counteract the gnawing stomach feeling, gagging at food, the general lethargy and rls but many Dr's assume you don't need it if your on any opiates at any dose.
