Last ditch effort at nerve block today - please keep me in your thoughts!

Once more, I'm trying a nerve block.

This time it is much more specialized, a pudendal nerve block. My doctor and physical therapist are pretty certain many of my issues are stemming from pudendal neuralgia or an entrapped pudendal nerve. So, if the block works that will confirm the diagnosis.

If it doesn't I'll probably be back to square one. Or, at least square two or three, with my diagnosis.

So please keep me in your thoughts! The block is being done by a different PM doc, not my regular doc, because he doesn't do them. I was going to have to wait until the end of February, but my urogynecologist called the PM doc's office and asked for an earlier appointment so I was able to get in today.

Oh, BTL...I'm sending you positive thoughts for successful procedure, and PAIN RELIEF.  I truly hope this is just the treatment to work for you.  Please let us know, sweetie=)

LOL, y'all are so funny, and awesome on top of that.

I'm not sure yet if it's working. They gave me IV versed and fentanyl before the injection so I may be experiencing some relief from those? I'm not sure.

The doc said wait 2-3 days to see if it's effective, which is weird because my other PM doc says you know right away if it will work or not. They must use different medications in their injections.

Incidentally, as I was talking to the nurses and doc as they were setting up the procedure area, I mentioned to them that I had two hypogastric blocks without anaesthesia and they were like, "whoa, are you serious? We've never even done ONE without anaesthesia. I can't believe you did that." So, I suppose this is a strange badge of pride for me that I can take so much pain.

Anyway, thank you all for your well wishes! I'll keep you posted.

One positive ... it seems to have stemmed the PGAD condition I have, which is amazing. If that lasts, I'll get these blocks done once a month if I have to.

I sincerely hope you get some relief from this.
