One week after surgery to remove the endometriosis there is already another small cyst on my right ovary and it's painful. I'm not happy! 😒

Don't you have an appt with the surgeon coming up to discuss your options? I have a feeling its going to take a complete hysterectomy to get you past all of this. Like I said previously, that was the best thing I ever did for myself. That took care of my situation. If you decide to go down this path as well, it should help you. Take care.

My post op is next week but I'm actually at his office now to see him. I think we are going to discuss total hysterectomy.

We didn't really discuss much today he just checked the incisions quick and looked at the ultrasound report and said the pain is probably from healing cause the cyst is so small. He gave me a script for pain meds and I see him next week. Hopefully we will discuss it farther then.

Whatx2 - Dixie knows a ton about endometriosis, I'm sure she'll be along and reply soon.

What would be the goal of total hysterectomy? I had a partial over the summer, I kept both my ovaries, and I do have some small cysts (I think most women do). But I don't want to go through the hormonal nightmare of ovaries being removed and it isn't necessary in my case.

If they leave the ovaries the endo will most likely return as it feeds off the hormones produced by the ovaries. This is why they take them when endo is a problem. The hormones can be supplemented either by a HRT or even OTC. I have been on OTC for years after being taken off of HRT.

As long as my surgeon agrees to do it I plan on doing the total hysterectomy and I'm pretty sure he's going to be fine with it. I don't want to keep dealing with something when there's a way around it and as far as medications gi I can't do birth control and I really don't like the sound of the Lupron. I don't think my surgeon even thinks I would do well on it. So that leaves the hysterectomy.
