so I had my postop appt the other day. The surgeon showed me some pictures from the surgery. Apparently besides the endometriosis he also found adhesions further up at my intestines. They are at the bottom of where the scar is that I have the nerve damage. So that explains that pain. I also have more cysts. I definitely have one on right ovary, it started last week at 1.1 cm and then grew to 3.1 cm this week. Also pretty sure now there's one on the left ovary as well. The surgeon won't do the hysterectomy or remove ovaries. He wants me to go back to my regular Gyno and try to find a birth control. I don't do well on hormones. Right now I have the paragard iud. I have that one because it doesn't have hormones. He also doesn't think I should really have an iud because of the chronic pelvic pain and screwed cycles. So now I have no idea what I'm going to do. I did speak to my Gyno quick and she is referring me to pain management. So I'm waiting to hear about that and I go to see her next week.

I wholeheartedly agree given the issues iud is not a great choice for birth control and ppl who tend to grow adhesions at a astonishing rate needs to consider how easily adhesions could anchor anything that is foreign to the body,this was a major issue with the vaginal meshes. Not sure when you last tried any kind of HRT but they have been a few new manufactured by design with ppl who tend to have problems so they actually have come a long way with them and they are much better tolerated. I see less issues with those taken less often but cover longer periods.

I had tried a bcp a few months ago and it messed with my depression horribly bad. I was depo provera several years and they only side effect I remember with that one is weight gain but after having gastric bypass I really don't want that to happen again.

I suffered for years with ovarian cysts. Doctors wouldn't do oophorectomy or hysterectomy because I was 'too young'. I smoke, so couldn't use birth control pills. I did a bit of research and found out what foods to avoid, what supplements to take, to help manage the cysts. I'm biding my time until menopause,when they should stop growing. P.S. My right ovary and fallopian tube were removed during emergency surgery when I was 21 years old. The cysts had grown to the size of a grapefruit, were dying and had become gangrene! My remaining ovary is about the size of a walnut at last look. I am 54 now and entering menopause! Yay for me! I hope you find a solution.

I am much older than you & because of problems with BC pills they tried the IUD with me & that proved to not be the best form of BC either. For the reasons Vickie stated above I would talk to my dr about what they think about removing it with your current issues.

I ended up having a tubal done at the age of 25 which was rare in those days because I was so young. It took my dr months to plead my case with surgeons & finally one agreed to do it. Then at 32 I had to have a complete done.

If you are leaning towards wanting to have a hysterectomy you may want to talk to gyno about finding a surgeon that will do one. It may take some time but it can be done. Take care.

I'd find another gyne. They're the ones who manage hormones and do the gyne surgery. Pain management is not for hormone control or surgical problems. In my very non-doctor opinion, you got dumped because you're a somewhat difficult case.

I'm finding that doctors who work for hospitals are pushed to see more patients per day, and don't have the time for problems. I'd find an independent doctor. A group is fine, but not a hospital-owned practice. Ask your PCP for a recommendation.
