Cold Wet Change in Pressure = PAIN

I really do not mind the cold as long as it is dry but cold wet weather with the change in barometric pressure sends my pain through the roof. My problems start in my sinuses and all the surgeries I have had. The change in barometric pressure is really a problem. I actually had to call my husband to bring me some BT meds which I never have done before. Actually everyone in my household has been having problems with the weather changes. My husband has a bad shoulder (shot in vietnam) and back and I have two large Maine Coon cats both with hip dysplasia. My husband took his naproxen and I gave Spring and Bee their "happy juice" buprenorphine. The cats only need this rarely but when I see the signs that they are hurting they get a dose. Hubby and the cats slept well last night but I was not that lucky and keeping busy at work only does so much. I cannot wait for my shift to be over so I can take my BT meds and head home maybe to the hot tub........

I hope that everyone is keeping warm. I know that a good portion of the country is also having bad weather. What I would give for snow. For some reason it is not as bad as rain and it is so pretty. Wishing it was warmer...everyone take care out there.

it's funny that you posted this topic I was just texting my friend about my joints hurting with this low pressure front barreling through! I just had a total right knee replacement done six weeks ago and the last two days it has been really screaming at me, along with my back and neck! That low pressure left us with a little over four inches of that nasty cold white stuff late Friday night! Luckily allot of it melted off today.

Add me to this list and I live in Florida!! We are currently at 41 degrees here and its rained on and off for 2days and the wind coming out of the north across the ocean is horrible! We lost power yesterday twice from down lines from tree limbs being blown down. The rains not heavy but cold misty and everyone in the house is eating sinus meds but me and I don't because they have strange effects with me and my meds.

I also spent time in the hot tub and an extra aquatherapy session Friday. Spring hurry up!!

I ditto that!!!! Its funny cause i am always telling my husband that its gonna rain without even checking the forecast.....i can feel it. The cold wet days here in Texas in the winter is brutal on pain control. Its like your whole body responds to the change in pressure and screams at you. Thats when a swim in the jacuzzi helps a whole lot!

There is no need to watch the weather report. You know what the weather is going to do and what it is doing by your pain level.

Amen!!! The best money we ever spent was on our hot tub. My hubby's orthopod was nice enough to write us a letter so we took it off our taxes. Unfortunately the cats and husband bounce back easier, they all spend more time near the fire. I am at work and my third and last shift of the week crawls. Stay warm..Hey maybe we can all get jobs as weather forecasters we are at least as good as the guys on tv.

Well.... good news here in Texas - FINALLY! Its 70 degrees here, blue skies and a lot of sun in that sky, wohoo! I plan on laying on the lounge and getting me some vitamin D, lol. Yea, Yea I bragging. I am sorry for all those up north getting landbasted with the snow, wind and freezing temps! Here's to sunny skies!

SisterPam, don't you feel just a little guilty having such beautiful weather here in Texas when so many others are suffering! I do, but I'm right there with you, getting out in that great sunshine. Maybe we can soak up a little extra Vitamin D in honor of those who can't right now.

Well okay Abeline, do I feel for all the others that can't enjoy this scrumpdelicious, beautiful, sunny, warm and mind empowering weather - absolutely I do!
It's just that days like this really gets my spirits up and instead of hibernating in the house, on my recliner/or in bed, trying to fight the cold/dampness outside - I am doing WOHOO's!
Sorry everyone, I just love the summer weather cause I can actually go out in my yard and my pain level is not through the roof!
I would be drinking a marguerita or something similar on my lawn chair, but oops, not with those pain meds ---- darn it! LOL

Yes, we are expecting a wet weekend with highs in the upper 40's in the DFW area. Hope we don't complain too much.

I think the heat & humidity in the summer evens it out with a mild winter. It doesn't affect the pain as much, but you sure can be miserable and that effects everything.
