A little bit about me, I was diagnosed with a disease NF-1 when I was 8. It is a disease that tumors grow in the affected area. Now 27, I have had 23 surgeries including many tumor removals, hip, knee, muscle surgeries, my last being a hip replacement. From all of the trauma, I have severe nerve damage from the tumors and my joints are destroyed from it. I have only taken 1-2 7.5/325 oxycodone per day for about 5 years now, regardless of how excruciating the pain would get. I am a person who hates going to my dr saying I have pain because of such the negative connotation pain sufferers receive these days. My fiancé finally made my look into a pain Dr because my life was becoming terrible. Prior to this Dr I have tried medications such as Dichlofenac, gabapentin, lyrica, fenagel, etc. and procedures I have had hip, knee injections, epidural trigger points, tens therapy. In all hopes to manage without opiates. My new pain dr has put me on my normal 7.5 oxycodone still plus starting me on 10mg twice a day oxycontin. I will be combining that with a brand new nerve med that is out. I am so happy I found a great pain dr who took the time to look at my whole crazy medical history and has decided to help me. He said we can play with dosages as well and know that there are other meds like MS Contin, fentanyl etc that we can try. I already have seen a small light to the tunnel of lifelong pain suffering. Thank you all for reading and I hope you guys can find a little hope as well when needed. Mike
