Has anyone tried Linzess for the horrible constipation we cpers are prone to having. I have tried any number of things including colace, miralax and a paste made from prunes, figs, raisins and apricot all cooked in senna tea sweetened with brown sugar and molasses. It actually doesnot taste too bad. I am hoping the linzess will jump start things. Such fun.

Please pray for my husband, my rock, he is facing shoulder surgery soon. It is sooo hard to see a loved one in pain. I would take it on myself. I have a lot of experience.

Here's hoping Spring come soon.

MtG many have reportedly done well with it but it's still new enough that the cost prevents many from having access to it.

I have done the concoction for years and I will take it over mag citrate or even milk of mag,yuck!!

Object is to stay ahead of the game and not miss a day of working on the problem.

I like Vickie have heard good things about it too, but the cost is something else. If you have good prescription coverage that would be awesome. For those without a good script plan its out of reach for many.

Hope your husband has a successful surgery along with a good ortho that deals with shoulder problems only.

Sorry to hear of the back up problems! I have to say, now what is wrong with a big chug a lug of Milk of Mag!! Yum Yum! lol Just kidding...

I have always had the best of luck with Miralax every other day like clockwork. Have never had a back up problem, knock on wood. I did check my formulary and Linzess is not on it, would have liked to try It.

I do send hope and prayers that your hubby's surgery goes well and he makes a speedy recovery!

I've never heard of linzess but I'll google it for info. My system hates laxatives so I put up with the constipation till my wife had me upping the fruit in my diet. I found that, even though they're processed, a 14 oz can of peaches or pears in the lite syrup does the trick. It also cured my cravings for ice cream . . . Q

Thanks to all of you. Your thoughts and prayers are so welcome and healing too. Linzess is actually on our formulary as a preferred brand so I picked it up this morning. Will see...

I have been on linzess for over a year….it's the only med that really helps my chronic/severe constipation. It is rather powerful, and when starting it, ask for a small dose and do not take w/ food, take before eating. Otherwise, it could act a bit too strongly for you.

If insurance is willing to cover it, go for it! Let us know what happens/how it goes for you!

Hey there...My GI recommended Linzess following my last colonoscopy 2 years ago, since it was fairly new.  She gave me samples, but warned me that it's expensive without script coverage.  I believe it comes in 145 mg and 290 mg capsules.  She gave me samples that worked like a charm until I ran out=(

I would happily swallow the capsule if I could afford Linzess.  It required the 290 mg per day for me, but I am not normal (in so many ways).  Good luck and great success=)
