Hello all. A little over two months ago my new PM Dr changed me from MS Contin with oxycodone for BT to Nucynta ER and IR. The first week of month 1 was eaten up getting ins approval and having pharmacy order meds, the next week and a half were full blown withdrawl from the MS Contin/Oxy and Lexapro which I had to quit taking all at once. The remainder of the month I had the stomach flu.
Fun times, but I got thru it. When I saw the NP last month she gave me the choice to stay with the Nucynta or to say nope it's not a good match. Because I had pretty much been sick the entire time I wanted to give it a fair shot and chose to give it another month.
I see the NP Friday morning and fully intend to tell her Nucynta is NOT for me. I have nerve pain and it does OK for that ( or maybe that's the zonegran) but it does absolutely nothing for the myofascial and other muscular/joint pain, nothing, nada, NOT A THING. I had hoped my metabolic testing would have come bacl by now but at least my copy hasn't. Maybe they will have it.
Anybody have any idea if the conversion back to a more conventional opoid from Nucynta is easier? Or should I just order a truck load of immmodioum right now?
