I am having the following surgery done in 2 weeks. Posterior spinal fusion L3-Sacrum with instrumentation, laminectomy L3-L4 with possible posterior lumbar interbody fusion L3-L4.
You can say I am a bit paranoid about
this surgery. My question is does this medical jargon mean I will be fused from L3 to S1?

No it means you will be fused from L4 to L3. L5 is above the S1 and L5 is between your L4 and L3.
my fusion was the same except at L5 to L4.

That's what I thought. I had L4&5 fused in dec 2012. They tell me they are going to fuse L3 to S1. Which is what I need, but when I read the consent form I see exactly what you said. That's the only reason I posted here. I wanted to see if other read it the same way I did. In my original post I wrote the exact verbiage that's in my consent. Thanks for the reply!

Whoo, sorry I miss read your post, and didn't know about
your L4-L5 fusion, you are getting fused from L3 to S1 fusion.
The Sacrum medical jargon is your S1. So Sorry for the mislead.
