I love depo medrol, I have an injection monthly, the most allowed. I feel better almost immediately,
it lasts about 5 days. Some people get more relief, some less, depends. I wish I'd found it sooner. I like it far better than oral steroids. It really helps manage my flares - for 5 days per month anyway in my case.

I have a rare type of inflammatory arthritis called CPP that causes connective tissue disease as well.

I'd give it a try. Hope this helps.

Some people get longer lasting relief, wish I were one of them. If it helps & you like it, you will learn over time how it makes you feel. The benefit outweighs any negatives for me.

I too love plaquenil, give it time, it can takes several months to fully "kick in". When it does you will know it. It can also reduce cholesterol if you have that problem too. I do. You got the eye test, right?

Remember, most people who post reviews are frustrated. If the med or treatment works, they are out and about, enjoying the good results.


I've had those shots, and never had a problem. Initially I did receive some relief, but additional shots did not. BUT-I know people who swear by them.

The plaquenil can take months to kick in. Don't panic if you don't see a huge improvement. I know few people who have had total symptom management with that med alone, but it's a good med with few serious effects(when compared to others), and is a good building block med.

I think the most frustrating issue with autoimmune disorders is that it takes months to truly know if a med will be effective. I've been on some that can take 6 months before it can be deemed a success or failure. It's so hard to not think of the failures as wasted time. But AI diseases are tricky and affect each person differently.
