I hope for improvement for those who are suffering, and that things continue well for those who are doing okay.
I saw my palliative care doctor Monday and we decided that we've run out of options for managing my shingles pain, so now I'm just concentrating on living with it and ignoring it when I can. The doctor is an hour away, half way to a state park my wife and I used to visit, so we decided to go on up there and stay overnight in a hotel and spend two days walking the trails, to see how I'd do with my new "ignore the shingles" philosophy, plus walking on uneven ground and shortness of breath from the cancer.
I was surprised how well I did. We took it easy, but I was able to walk far enough to see the sights. The first evening my shingles really acted up, but the second day I did surprisingly well. My poor wife though got a bad allergy attack from the dead leaves and pollen, so she's feeling worse than me today, now that we're back home.
